Club blocks players from attending supporter meetings

Yes, it would be impossible for the players to talk openly and frankly about the last few weeks at this time, what Fraeye did, what Tony Watt did, how the players get on behind the scenes, what they really think of Katrien etcmogodon said:
They know that every question will be about the shambles behind the scenes. In that regard, I can see why they would not want to expose a player with already shredded confidence to that kind of evening.shirty5 said:7/1/16: “I think we need to communicate with supporters better. The Board accepts it’s not been as good as it could and they are taking a number of steps to improve that" Richard Murray
18/1/16: Apparently, Stephen Henderson has been removed from attending East Kent Addicks this week.
But if Murray meant what he said (and we all know it was for media consumption only) then someone from the board would have taken their place.
Imagine if Stephen heavily criticised KM and RD, what might happen to him. Even worse, imagine if he said he agreed with them, how that would go down with us!
The openness at this stage needs to come from the boardroom, not the dressing room24 -
The Newcastle United Fans forum is filmed and posted with all the details which you can view on line. And not weeks after the event, something that should be condsidered if any more of our fans forum meetings take place.seth plum said:At the November meeting, filmed and posted, I am pretty sure Katrien said the next Fan's Forum meeting would also be filmed and posted. it was one of the three points for action alongside the (lol) target 20,000 initiative.
I am expecting the Fans Forum meeting to be cancelled, however Fanny, care to share the agenda with us?

Do you have a little soft spot for the Toon Badger because they play in black and white stripes?Badger said:

Are Katrien and Murray not available?Ollywozere said:Karel Fraeye and Hendo were due to attend. For obvious reasons, Karel was no longer attending and Hendo is now unable to attend.
The club tried to find a replacement (I was tasked with this alongside our Player Liaison Officer) but others, understandably, aren't exactly queing up to take his place.
Jon Fortune attended the U21 fixture this afternoon and he was asked by the club if he would be up for it. Thankfully, he agreed!
That's the long and the short of it folks.
There's plenty of players injured with spare time on their hands that I'm sure could've attended. Says it all that not a single player can't be bothered.6 -
The other players would be in the same situation as Henderson, so I'm sure it's nothing to do with them not being botheredThe Red Robin said:

Be interesting to see who is put out for the fans forum. KM anyone?
My guess is Mr Riga and while I support the idea, if he'd managed to get a couple of players he trusted already that must be better.
Maybe not Hendo though as he is in bits and needs a longer term build, any keeper who gets 11 past him in two games even when most aren't anything to do with him needs support and a shield. I hope that's what Riga is thinking of....3 -
Get Sue Parkes down there. She isn't short of an opinion or two.....44

Olly, are you saying that the player was, personally, unable or unwilling to attend and other first team players were asked to take his place with the club's support?Ollywozere said:Karel Fraeye and Hendo were due to attend. I think, it should be left. Henderson can't make it, end of. Leave the poor sod alone.kings hill addick said:

Hendo would have had to leave at 11 and he doesn't like that number.4

Apparantly he's developed a RSA injury in his back picking the ball out of the net so often over the past week.2 -
If Meire hasn't already left the building get her down there or Murray the communicator........ no, all bloody scared of the truth......"they can't handle the truth".Ollywozere said:Karel Fraeye and Hendo were due to attend. But because of that I couldn't see him getting anything short of a hero's welcome at EKA.mogodon said:
In fairness, I can understand in his case more than anyone. He was hung out to dry last Tuesday. He deserves a break.Badger said:Why is Henderson unable to attend.

And Meire promised at the Fans' Meeting that all future FFs would be videoed and published in full on the website.Badger said:

She's not likely to lie is she.
I see this FF as an opportunity to be relevant, but would be amazed if KM was there if she's not prepared to go to away games.2 -
He probably started 'coming down with something' just after the 11th goal in 2 games went in, not a dig at him, as I'd be the same.....Badger said:Why is Henderson unable to attend.

I'd still like an evening with KF. We never got his thoughts post H'field. I need closure on his time here. POTY might be an opportunity for boycott, given that the club seems to have wrested control from Jean and Iain.1

Perhaps the new Comms Manager has been doing some prep and decided to make an early start?2

Olly, I think the real issue for me is that you have to appear on a social media platform under your own guise to explain/diffuse false assumption/confusion over the clubs decisions.Ollywozere said:Karel Fraeye and Hendo were due to attend. I am really pleased you do and credit to you for it but it's a sad reflection of the zero communication emanating from the club.

Don't blame players in the circumstances. This is war and surely no pleasure for us firing on cannon fodder with the generals hiding in their bunkers.3
-
I don't blame him or any of the players for not wanting to come either. Now is not the time to be sending them out and firing questions at them, most of which they won't be able to answer, when their confidence is shot.
