I wouldn't have a jail broken phone causes way too many problems and if you do an update it doesn't work anymore, the built in protection (resetting your phone to remove bugs) don't work anymore. Most people I know that have done it don't have their phone much longer than a couple of months afterwards.
If you want the most expensive phone why not pay the correct price to keep it working. Why someone would take an £800 phone to a chap with a table in Bluewater is beyond me.
As for jail-breaking an iPhone. Why not just get an Android one instead?

I always used to Jailbreak my iPhones - mainly for Cydia and some of the non app-store approved apps. There were also some pretty good themes available after jailbreaking.

I think the need to root an Android phone is probably more than ever now. Which is a shame as since I got my first Android phone I've never looked back, I think Android is really really decent.
My Samsung Galaxy S6 came loaded with so much utter crap that I'll never use, the same for my old Sony Xperia. It seems every manufacturer nowadays wants to bloat your phone with stuff before you've even switched it on, it's a real pet peeve of mine.
