  • me, my 2 girls, my mate and his 2 boys will all be renewing.

    just can't break the habit
  • If people do give up comming to games not renew season tickets, then the club will fold and there will be no CAFC to moan about or cheer, that will be the end of the club.
  • I'll be renewing.

As someone else said I neither have anything else to fill the void of Saturday 3pm's which have been the same for me since 1989 so it's either follow all the action on Sky or still go to matches and I don't fancy staying at home following it on Sky. Could go match by match like others but it will still work out cheaper in the long run to get a season ticket. Might well delay renewing until late on but that's about it for me.

Meire doesn't want the team to play at 3pm on Saturdays. She has claimed to have survey evidence that Charlton fans don't want it either. Indeed she tried to put a proposal to change kick off times to other clubs, but it was pointed out that it doesn't need a rule change, just the consent of the other club (and the police). Of course, in Belgium they play later on Saturdays, but I'm sure that's just a coincidence.
Woah I must have missed this bit of unbelievable news.

This really sums up the current regime's assertion that they know better than everybody else, just as when Katie explained that she wants to try and change the league financial regulations and prize money structure.

It is exactly the sort of thing that Chris Powell means when he talks about his exasperation at the boards lack of willingness to 'buy in' to the culture of Charlton and the English league.

The Trust did a survey when this was first suggested by KM (Nov 2014) - fans were overwhelmingly against it, so not sure what survey results she is referring to?

To be fair the calls to the NHS call centre have been proving so popular, it's only right that football matches should be fitted in on quiet periods. I actually think game should be moved to Charlton park.
  • Been going since 1968. Seen 2000 games, most of them in the lower divisions, so I'm no Premiership glory boy. Have a season ticket, but I do not bother to attend more than 1 in 3 games now. 6 hour round trip inc game time. Why bother? The owners hate us, so no, that is it for me, and sadly I know dozens of people just like me who will never go again until these Belgian twats piss off.

Looks like a lot of us 'customers' are going to be withdrawing our custom next season.

You know how she struggles with percentages though...

Not playing on Saturday afternoons under this regime would definitely affect me.

As well as being incompetent it looks to me that Katrien Miere is actually very lazy, and for her a days work might involve about an hour of moaning and whingeing to others.

Katrien is too lazy to get to the Valley in good time.
Katrien is too lazy to monitor day to day events.
Katrien is too lazy to prepare properly for meetings, hence the pathetic power point, and hastily prepared hand out to pass round at the last minute.
Katrien is too lazy to answer emails.

At best Katrien will rouse herself to react to things if she really has to.

Katrien will be available for conferences with free travel, accommodation and nosebag nosh that she thinks will make her look good. Katrien has time to swan around before games, confronting some fans and avoiding others with an expensive herd of security goons in tow.

My feeling is she is so incompetent that idleness comes easy, because when she rouses herself away from the mirror, what she does do goes wrong nearly
    every time.

I don't believe she actually does anything that feels like work for more than a couple of hours a week, a junior doctor she ain't.

Katrien has about two achievements since she arrived, she can be personally charming and cheerful when one on one with selected people. Katrien went on the Upbeats walk.

Other than that she has made scant difference to improving our lot, but her laziness has, in my view, made a lot of difference to worsening our lot.

So one thing that might influence the season ticket decision would be a CEO that actually did some work for the living we pay (a third) for.

I don't think she turns up late because she is lazy.

It just takes her longer than most women to powder her nose.

  • I'll be renewing. Had a season ticket since 75/76 season including the wilderness years. One thing I have noticed since the Premiership is the amount of family and freinds who have drifted away and not come back. Non attendance becomes a habit after a short period of time just like going to games regularly does. Some are even using our current plight as an excuse not to attend even though they stopped coming long ago. Not happy about things but if I don't renew I fear that will be the end. Don't want that to happen. Got to much mileage on the clock to jack it in overnight.
Judging by the number that won't be renewing I reckon we will be lucky to reach 5000 S/T next season. At least it will be easier to get tickets for the glory games I suppose. Or will it? Be interesting to see if Valley Gold membership increases with some leavers keeping membership and some investing in a cheaper plan B first dibs option.
  • Don't have one and have no intention of buying (despite having recently moved back to SE7!).

Regardless of how you view the regime, I'm in the 'mild dislike' category myself - there's no doubting how many fans have been turned off of Charlton during their ownership. This thread makes particularly grim reading about the long-term damage that's been done in that regard.
