There's so many places that would get the London based journos an easy story, timing and agreement from my mate and my guys and one of my vans will do the rest, I am meeting him again at the end of the month where we will get on to the subject again, they are expensive bits of kit though, I don't have ten k to just throw around to cover the cost if it breaks doing a quick escape or getting it confiscated, so I Need time to weigh up the risks

Is 10k the replacement cost NLA? Might it be possible to get some temporary additional insurance cover while you borrow it?
Yeah 10k replacement for the equipment it's top of the range and he has projected some amazing images across really big areas from quite a distance away, I will look into the insurance

And I love the Queen far too much to do Buckingham palace but the Belgian embassy is a quality choice and proper easy to do,

If you let the police know about it beforehand then from tonights goings on they will happily guard it for you. The police are keen on this type of thing as it's a completely peaceful protest. It's all about co-operating with them.

I don't think the nation of Belgium should be dragged into this, this isn't an argument against the country, but against 2 Belgian individuals, otherwise it just looks xenophobic
  • He's one of their own, He's one of their own,
Roland Duchatelet, he's one of their own.

How can a country that gave us Stella, Poirot and Tin Tin.
have exported Duchatelet and Meire to SE7 ?

I think we'd have to make absolutely clear that it's not xenophobic. It's not saying they are incompetent or unwanted because they are Belgian, it's about saying they are playing with our heritage, they do not understand it and they are wrecking it. If embarrassing them publicly amongst their compatriots is what it takes, then so be it.
  • We are so pc it's unbelievable, who cares what it comes across as to others, we as fans know what it means and what we want. They clearly don't give a monkeys about all these gimmicks of masks, singing songs about them, pieces of paper. Projecting things on the ground/area if done properly could really embarrass them in national news/ international news. I am still on the side of a mass walkout, it's the best way to get massive media attention and if we could time that in conjunction with the projector ( big if with funds ) then I think that could hit them the hardest. Let's get it right all this support the team not the regime bollocks can wait. We are down now I can pretty much say so we now have something like 12 games to get the message across
Loud and clear. This isn't a dig at card, but think that your trying to please to many angles, and keep it clean etc. It's not always possible, it needs to be edgy and have a risk factor to it. The atmosphere needs to be poison when doing things like this. That's what Liverpool created the other day and also with Leeds you always have that possibility of violence if it goes tits up which keeps the owners on there toes with regards to protests etc. Just my
    Opinion
  • Targeting the Belgium embassy is a good move. It is more likely to get coverage back to Roland and bring more pressure on him.
We can also target the valley on a non match day of necessary or perhaps after a match during a protest?
  • The London Marathon would be a good event to do something.
  • The London Marathon would be a good event to do something.

This is a great idea for all the already made banners/flags etc.

Where shooters hill road turns into old Dover road always gets a lot of coverage but looks reasonably sparsely populated. Not sure if commentators would mention it but it must be easy to spot on tv. Maybe some simpler "Roland Out" ones might be needed....

The London Marathon would be a good event to do something.

We could get someone to run out in front of the elite group of Mens Runners... Trouble is finding someone on CharltonLife who is fit enough to run that fast for a few yards (Was going to say minutes but realised I'd be pushing my luck)

We could paint the road, like the tour da France.

Not the worst idea in the World... Planning ahead do we have any Lifers heading to see the Tour this year?

And Jacques Brel. And Django Rheinhardt..
  • Projecting onto Valiant House - maybe - but projecting from Valiant House onto the pitch ? ;-)

Only on half the pitch, as the Jimmy Seed Stand would block the southern edge.
  • Can't we find somebody in the block of flats overlooking the Valley (behind the North Stand) to allow the use of their balcony for a small fee and then project a message from there on to the pitch at half time (or even during a match)? can you imagine how brilliant that would be and I don't see how the club could stop it?

    More than enough !

Yes. But considering it takes schools of people to make something big enough to get on Tele, the likelihood of getting something on screen is minute

Not sure anyone would see it from the stands.

Tbf the floodlights would most likely overpower any message.
