  • All these Church puns are annoying. I'm incensed.

Agreed - it's making me cross.

At least he didn't send the penalty steepling over the bar.
  • I never thought Simon Church would win me money. He did last night. I take it all back. Great player.

I'm praying that's the end of it.

    Amen to that.
  • This is testament, that even without a cannon of a shot,
Simon can convert a chance, and the trinity of Bale, Ramsey and church,
could lead Wales to the promised land. Church has been born again since he has been anointed to the Granite city.
For me it's no atonement for missing that header at 1-1 at the Den,
when he was unmarked. how he didn't get on the end of that Cross,
    Lord only knows.
Our Parishoners would have sold him for pieces of silver that day.
    I heard two bob mentioned.

  • Churchinio bags another...........
  • Good and well done Churchy
  • He attacks the six yard box for most of his goals in Scotland ?
how can the Scottish Prem have weaker defenders than the championship.
  • £7000 a week wages! 6 goals in 10 games but 3 headed is not a bad ratio for Churchinio, no matter what league.

  • Good on him!
  • On-loan Wales striker Simon Church leaving Aberdeen.

Church, 27, scored six goals in 13 outings after arriving in January but is returning to Milton Keynes Dons.
  • Good on him!

Don't you mean good on hymn ?
  • we will soon be his level but 7k a week is the squad budget not an individual
  • Is he in the Wales euro squad?

Churchy is definitely there. He was on the pitch with the rest of the squad after yesterday's game. What a great experience for the guy (ditto Northern Ireland's League 1 full backs, both of who acquired themselves very well against Poland).

Decent pen, keeper maybe could have done better.

I know it was old buy I'd be surprised if he does well.

I really hope that Church gets a chance to play this afternoon and that he does well if given the opportunity. He took a lot of stick whilst he was at Charlton, but for any shortcomings he was never one to hide and always tried his best. All the best, Simon.

He did always try his best but for him to be scoring the amount he did up at Aberdeen says all it needs to say about desperately shit scottish league football is. A team that got relegated from the championship shipped him on loan up there.

You can't question his efforts and professionalism, but this little spell casts a very shocking light on Scottish league football.
  • Might not have been the most successful of forwards but clearly prepared for his retirement:

  • Equity release scheme then snaffling up the homes of the elderly under market value. Looks like another one in the Arter/ Taylor mould
  • Founder's statement seems a bit Del boy.

“It doesn’t matter how much money you’ve got in the bank, it’s going to dwindle pretty quickly by then it’s too late”

    Simon Church – Founder

  • He’s got to be good at something
  • Sensible lad!!... Good to see he's giving something back in a way to ensure players long term future

Read the other day that there seem to be a lot of ex-players who either end up divorced / bankrupt (or both) because they just cant cope with retirement

Church will find it easier to adjust as he's been in semi retirement for 10 years
