You’re a helpful bunch on here - I’ve had more interactions and useful comments in 12 hours on here than in 2 months trying to contact the club!! Thank you all

By the sounds of it, I can call off chasing the welcome pack. As someone commented, I found the value in the membership was the end of season session on the pitch which was an amazing experience!

I’ll carry on pursuing the away day matchday mascot - we’re off to Ewood Park first weekend in January so can’t imagine too many under 16s making the journey up the M6 so might have a chance (if someone checks the email inboxes at the club that is)!!!

    Thanks again all
There were two young Charlton fans as mascots at the recent Coventry away game.
If someone on here knows them, maybe they could ask their parents how they applied for this.

Failing that, I would ring Blackburn Rovers FC and ask them for advice.

My girl was a mascot at Exeter away through JR.  The club contacted me to say she had won a draw to be selected.

I assume that there simply were not many other U11s going to the game so a limited number of kids to draw from (we had already bought our tickets).

Exeter treated her so well they are now definitely my second favourite team and I look out for their results.

Ultimately the £40 is good value for me even if my kids only did the end of season training in the pitch.

We went to the Xmas party yesterday, at 10 my girl is a bit on the old side for much of it but they do a great job entertaining the little ones and had a Santa's grotto and face painting as well as activities and a great compare who didn't stop for 2 hours.

Most of the players came along (just the injured, u21 squad and NJ missing) and they give out an A4 card with the players pictures for you to get signed (or you can bring your own stuff instead of course).  That was what my girl was wanting to do and she talked and smiled with them on her way round despite being overawed as they are "stars" and she is just a fan.

    According to the EFL website

The club seems to treat the SLO role & fan engagement as of no importance to the Charlton fans.

Would take a minute to update the website and put a couple of lines out on an article to welcome the new SLO.

To find out this way is not acceptable

CAST have been consistently encouraging the club to be more transparent and reliable in communications with fans and to use named contacts. They are heeding this though it is very disappointing to read that fans haven’t received specific responses. If you aren’t getting anywhere, please do contact secretary@castrust.org and we’ll help where we can, yes, even you @DOUCHER,

We were advised of Izzy’s change of role and that a new SLO was recently appointed and undergoing training ahead of being introduced to fans. It’s good that the EFL info has been updated, and pleased to see a named email address. It should of course also be updated across club channels.
