I was surprised that there were no stewards at the North Upper turnstiles checking bags etc... I can't believe I walked down the road with the funeral procession with a whistle down my trousers for nothing.
It's a tight squeeze down there as it is...
Other than that, everything was almost perfect today.
Only negatives were the farce with the big mouth no shows on the pitch invasion and the verbals between protesters and West Stand fans who hadn't walked out on 74.
That all pales into significance with all the good things that went on today though. Will live on in the memory for a very, very long time.

A few in the East giving us a hard time as we walked out. You don't care about the club etc
Apologies if this has been answered before, but who was the dapper chap in the top hat at the front of the cortege? Was he a fan or did you rope somebody in?

I cannot help but be impressed with the organisation of these protests. Far better than I could have ever imagined.
I do sometimes think though that an outsider looking in might be confused. We reasons for us protesting are not clear. People sing "we want our Charlton back" which doesn't actually mean anything. Can't messages be made about the ridiculous merry-go round of managers, the instatement of managers woefully unqualified for the job, or the weird policy of bringing in players from low European divisions?
I just think sometimes that we do not have a clear, defined message.

So the rather large "Roland & Katrien Time To Go" banner isn't clear enough?

We want our Charlton back is a pretty clear message to me.
Better than we don't want our club to be a ridiculous merry go round of managers & players.

Just read the Daily mail's article on the protests etc ... Apparently only 'several fans exited the ground in a pre arranged walk out"
Well if they were watching the same cameras as me, several looks kinda generous.. Even the grim reaper looked like he was trying to work out if he should walk or not.

It was disjointed because the big screen clock was the obvious one to watch for the trigger to go and the club "cleverly" removed it for the key time. There were a couple of thousand outside the back of the West Stand by the time Harriot's goal went in though.
I'd say over a thousand were in the car park when the second goal went in. Add to that, those who walked out and went elsewhere and you have a few more than 'several'.

I don't understand that. I saw quite a fair number just walking away from the ground, a number went to The Oak etc etc.
I have NEVER left a game early before and very nearly wandered back in - it just felt horrible, especially hearing the cheer for the second. But I wanted to add my head to the numbers for such a well orchestrated day. In the end it was perhaps the least successful part of the CARD demos, for various reasons, but I'm glad I did it. However... everyone made their own decision, and to turn on those who chose not to is frankly silly, self-righteous and divisive, playing into the hands of those who wish to "divide & conquer". Many of those who chose to remain inside feel just as strongly about ousting R & K, and have already been active in other ways.
I'm still boycotting , and have done since the Preston game. I watched with great intrigue the game last night after avoiding the score. Sky were fully supportive and seeing Powell in his funeral attire looked great. It's so hard to please everybody but I think CARD deserve lots of credit for orchestrating such a show of defiance to the regime. The fans, props , banners and chants showed the rest of the. Footballing world that little old Charlton are no pushovers. Well done everybody.

All fine, for the first ten seconds.
Oh Really?
I don't feel saddened, I am angry.
