Today's 12pm CARD Announcement...

BLACK SABBATH: Today’s midday announcement from the Coalition Against Roland Duchatelet is that… there is no midday announcement.

We’re keeping our additional plans for this afternoon under wraps for a few more hours for maximum effect and to limit the club’s ability to prepare for them. However, CARD volunteers will be out and about after 2pm to spread the word - and possibly something more.

We’ve already announced some advanced Black Sabbath events. A funeral procession will leave the Liberal Club in Charlton Church Lane at 2.45pm and fans are invited to line Floyd Road from top to bottom to pay their respects, joining the party from the back as it makes its way to The Valley.

A coffin will carry the hopes and dreams of generations of Charlton fans and we encourage you to dress suitably for a funeral in black and white. Sky Sports is likely to broadcast shots of the event during its live coverage of the match against Middlesbrough.

We encourage you to bring your own balloons and banners to the help us stage a wake for the cameras following the funeral.

Former Charlton manager Chris Powell will be part of the Sky team for the match and we’re sure that you will want to give him a warm and rousing welcome home, two years after he was sacked by Duchatelet.

We’ve also announced our intention to lead a walk-out from the game on 74 minutes and are asking fans leaving the stands to reassemble in the west stand car park - or as close as they can get - for an in-game protest.

We’re aware of speculation that the second half may have been delayed by then. For avoidance of doubt CARD is not involved in organising any pitch invasion, but if the game has been held up to any significant extent we will signal the walk-out in the actual 74th-minute of play through other means than the stadium clock.

We want our protest today to be visible, loud and effective, but also safe. Please don’t be drawn into confrontations with police and stewards - it’s not them who are wrecking our club.

Today let’s send an unmistakeable message to the wider game - and especially to the owner, watching in Belgium - that Charlton belongs to us.

Everyone can play their part in that. #cafc #RIPCharlton #WeWantOurCharltonBack Guardian sport Football Away Days
