Each to their own but I just can't believe people think their continued attendance would have any affect on the teams performance.
It has been proven for years and years an years that numbers and/or vocal support really don't have any affect. If they did the clubs with the largest/most vocal home support would always win at home and visa versa away.
Look at all the operation away days for us where the team have not turned up.
"I had to stay because the team needed my/our support to get them over the line" Really??? Just admit you wanted to see the game and that is more important to you than the future of the club.
We left on 74 and was glad to see several hundred more had done the same.
Brilliantly put.
If/when we get relegated this one off win over Middlesbrough won't be something that people will care about. It's not as if at the end of the season some fans will get much pleasure out of saying "yeah well I saw our 2nd goal against Boro at home"
I genuinely think many fans wanted to see a win and then kid themselves that things were all rosy again for a couple of hours. I know that will piss some people off, but that's just how I see it.

Would like to question two points please. "If they...."....surely it is the best team on the day that wins most matches..nothing to do with the level of vocal support. If my views are accepted (if!), then the second point is, what is the proof.
I didn't understand those wearing black and white scarfs but staying till the end. I fear the regime will be thinking 'ride this out, a few wins and it will die out.'
Been thinking about this. I can understand people with kids staying put. When you've not seen a win for months and finally look like getting one it's important to keep their interest. They are the future.
My boy knew the score as I made it implicitly clear before we set out what we would be doing .And although he didn't quite get it, he knew it was important to me. That was my decision.
But fully grown adults who attend without kids need to take a long hard look at themselves if they stayed inside.
Oh no SD im going to murder him. Not going to shoot him though as that's a bit noisy. I was thinking about garrotting him but that's too messy. It will have to be poison.
A gentleman's murder!
Just saves so much mess to be honest. I remember when I last killed, wasn't sure what to do with the body, it was hanging around for days, until I thought of the perfect hiding place.......

If we stay up by 1 point then this win WILL be something that people will care about.
Unlikely yes, but not impossible. Indeed if we'd been 5-0 up and cruising to victory, then MORE people would probably had walked out as there wasn't the risk of points being lost.
Wanting RD out AND us to stay up aren't mutually exclusive positions. I bet Peter Varney's friends for a start would be far more interested in a Championship club than a L1 one.

You mean Peter Varney's friends who our owner has already mugged off anyway?
Its all about the long term goal, which is what those who walked out had in mind on 74 minutes.

As I stated in the opening post we all have different opinions and it's been interesting reading them. The disappointment I felt was also about how the walkout would be viewed by neutrals, media etc and that a lot stayed in there seats. Reading why people didn't walk it seems the majority are against the regime but didn't agree with the walkout. People outside the club might not know this and it could be viewed or reported that the majority are quite happy with the regime. This is why we need to stick together and if you don't agree with the regime you need to say so and protest and not leave it to others.p
If walking out by scouts/managers etc is good enough for them, its good enough for me. I started walking out, but ended up staying to help the chap who had a fit on the stairs. I managed to get out with about 5 mins to go.
The Black-and-whiters who stayed can all get chuffed. I want you to hand your scarves back... now.
I had a scarf on, my daughter had a scarf on, my dad had a scarf on and we didn't leave and I am not giving my scarf back to Amazon. I really don't get this " you all should have left and you are scum if you didn't " it's my dad's last year attending the valley due to his age and I am making sure we enjoy every minute with him. Not walking out doesn't mean we don't support all the protests. Did every protester line the streets for the funeral procession?
I am surprised there wasn't more trouble with home fans digging out their own for not leaving. Beggars belief the stupidity of some of these fans. I think if someone gave me abuse I would not be so passive.

At the Leeds protest(seem a long time ago now) at 2.15 i was saying that it would bring a lot of fans together, which it has, BUT along with a couple of other, we said it would divide into splinter groups and opinions that CAFC fans would argue amongst themselves.
The guy who ran on early and didn't appear to be going to the centre circle in peace, has also shown the polar opposite views.

I consider it to be the height of bad manners.
