I love the real football experience that RD and KM have created for us at The Valley. It was a pleasure watching yet another young Premier League star of the future play many games for Charlton before they were shipped off .
Be great if he goes straight to the PL without having to muck about playing for us. I will be so chuffed to be able to say I heard about him playing for our youth teams before making it. Think the club will need to work on the matchday experience to compensate a bit. Maybe free beer and dancing girls all day. Something like that.
or he could be playing in the Leicester reserves with a place on the bench for a League Cup match
Before going out on loan to Notts County or Walsall
And netting a hattrick against the addicks who are looking like they're facing back to back relegations despite hiring club legend and anti relegation mastermind Karel fraeye for the second time.
“It all comes down to attitude,” Bowyer said. “Some people want to learn and some people think they know everything. That’s football.
“George is one of those who wants to improve, wants to learn and wants to do the best for the team. He’s a good team player and he’s good to have around the squad.
“I know that I can trust him and that is the most important thing for a manager. When you have cup games, people may ask ‘why are you playing him?’ and ‘why are you playing them?’ but I need to know if I can trust my young players in league matches.
I was at the checkatrade v Crawley when he scored his first, brilliant moment. Even better when he turned back round and smiled & waved at us. For me that is easily my 'proper Charlton' moment of the past few seasons. I doubt I'll ever forget that smile

“I know what I’ll get from George. He gives 100 per cent and he trains like he played on Tuesday every single day.”

He'll get stuff wrong as he's young, but his passion and commitment cannot ever be questioned.
