We are of course disappointed that the Club have been relegated to the 1st Division (of the Football League).
However, we see this as an opportunity to revitalise more areas of the club than was originally envisaged and to extend our 'network' of clubs. This process has commenced already and CEO Katrien Meire has been on a fact-finding mission to Dubai where the club has initiated some networking contacts with clubs and players of the Dubai Amateur Football League and we are pleased to announce that we are in advance negotiations to bring in for the new season both a forward and a midfield player from the one of the leading Dubai teams: Slug and Goats.
In a further initiative, and following the success of our fans' sofa, we are introducing for next season a personalised, embroidered cushion for the Season Ticket Holder.

Rest assured, we will learn from our mistakes and have been working very hard to right the wrongs. We can establish Charlton as a mid table league 1 club. That is our aim.

A Message To Our Customers
Dear customers, as we look forward to our 4th season of ownership, we are pleased to see our plans beginning to take place.
The improvements at The Valley are now complete, in the short term and the Academy improvements are in full swing.
We still do not agree with how the English Football League is run and shall of course be appealing against our relegation, due to the unfair FFP rules.
We shall be lobbying the other Championship clubs for their support in this matter and are hopeful, that the rules will be amended, to ensure our continuation in The Championship.5 -

Whatever league you are in is irrelevant it is still 11 men kicking a ball around.
League one will be a unique experience for the players who will get to experience the buzz of playing in front of two open stands rather than the one they usually do at VCD Athletic.
A long and thorough internal investigation has concluded that relegation is the fault of the supporters who demanded the return of team line-ups on the big screen.

'RELEGATION STATEMENT:
Despite the best efforts of our first team coach Jose Riga, and the improved performances of the team he helped construct looking to avoid relegation, we have been unsuccessful and our relegation to League 1 of the football league has been confirmed today.
It is disappointing that the fans did not fully support our fight against relegation and entered into disruptive protests which ultimately influenced our ability to stay in the Championship.
We would like to reiterate that Roland Duchatelet has no plans to sell the club. There is a lot of stability that his ownership can bring and we are pleased to announce this extends to his continued support of the club senior management Katrien Meire, Tony Keohane and Richard Murray.
We will, of course be active in the transfer market over the next few months as we try to create a team suitable for League 1 in terms of playing ability and also importantly to remain within the Financial Fair Play ('FFP') rules of that league.
We remain committed to rebuilding the trust with the fans through increased communication and we hope the fans will support us in our endeavours in League 1 and beyond. It is important in the context of the FFP rules that our turnover from ticket sales increases. This will allow us to retain the most competitive League 1 team under the constraints we have to operate under.
We would therefore like to announce an extension to the Early Bird offer to the end of July and would ask all season ticket holders to renew as soon as possible at the prices already announced in order to give us a sound basis for negotiating in the transfer window.
We share your disappointment with the relegation and look forward to seeing you at the Valley next year as we look to adapt to our new league.'

As you know today Charlton have mathematically been confirmed as being relegated to League 1.
We realise many supporters have seen errors in management and recruitment from the start of the season which, we agree, have contributed to this position. We genuinely believed we had a quality squad at the start of the season and that injuries could be filled from our well performing U21 squad. We were wrong.
Roland Duchatelet has today accepted the resignation of Katrien Meire as Chief Executive Officer, a short list of experienced Championship CEO has been drawn up and interviews are ongoing. M. Duchatelet is keen to give the new CEO autonomy within a set budget as he recognises this as a failure within the existing setup. The new CEO will also be given the remit to construct a new senior level staff externally and from within key supporter groups.
The club ownership is committed to promotion to the Championship next year and will be working with Jose Riga to ensure that as many of the top players as possible will stay with us to ensure that we are not only promoted to the championship but form a core from which we can develop into premiership contenders. We cannot commit to every player staying, but building a team for the future that can progress on the pitch is now our key goal. Jose Riga has accepted an extension to his contract for an extra year with an option of a year after.
We recognise that the prices were cheap for season tickets in the championship. In the north lower they remain competitive for league 1 football. However in the rest of the ground, they do not deliver the value we are looking to give to our fans. All adult season ticket prices will reduce by £150 for tickets priced above £350 and to £175 for all other tickets.
We hope that this encourages our disaffected support back to the Valley but we recognise that we need to do better before many will come back. We will therefore offer season tickets, adjusted for games played, up until the end of October.
We hope to see you soon at the Valley cheering the Reds on.'

The goal is to reach the premiership in three years and champions league football in five.
Season ticket prices will be set at £200-250 for each non-concession adult across the ground. Work will begin on plans to increase the size of the ground and build the infrastructure around it in order to accommodate the revised growth ambitions of the owners.
We hope to see you soon at the Valley and will be holding a number of events and discussions with fans and members of supporters and protest groups including CARD in order to ensure that we can build on the great work done by these individuals in bringing us to this position.'

I was going to go with CP as first team coach and Curbisjley as director of football but decided that an investor with that much cash to spend might go for premiership experience rather than championship.
Considered an option 3 with the above and less money but decided I'd written enough shit already and went all out for the jackpot.0 -
