Used to watch Dartford a lot when he was player/manager there. Although in the twilight of his playing career he was still the best player on the pitch by a mile.
I was reading on their forum the other day that they have a new board and that has brought new investment in to the club.
The scaffold at the Road end is temporary for a season I believe. They have plans to redevelop both ends of the ground.
They recently postponed all of their home friendlies as they are undertaking a massive overhaul on their pitch and it isn't going to be ready until the start of the season.
They have signed a few ex Charlton in this window as well - Taylor Maloney and Ade Aziz.
They had a horrendous season last year, but seem to have stuck with Warren Feaney as manager and the squad is looking very strong for their level. The only downside seems to be the fact that they lost their main striker to Ayr Utd in Scotland.
Popped down to Chatham Town last night. Very impressive stadium. Welling started with what appears to be there starting back 4, with the remainder being trialists. won 4-1 and took there goals very well. Now that the academy players are linked to the first team, leaves Welling far more options. Some of the youngsters look very sharp. Taking the family to Somerset for the start of August for a long weekend and as luck would have it, Welling area away to Taunton :-)
