For a team going for Promotion, not much tempo to Boro's play. You would have thought 5000 away fans would have got them going.
Boro have been a disappointment this season .. dirty, negative, but (it must be said) still effective .. Brum is giving it a right good go this evening .. IF Boro get promoted they'll need six new players just to survive in the top division
LIncs - Clayton & Leadbitter are held up as a good central midfield partnership. But both are plodders and often pass sideways or backwards. Barkley & Cleverley played through them in a league cup tie earlier in the season. They didn't get a kick. Gleeson had time and space to hit that one from 25 yards.

exactly .. good champ level tough guys, nowhere near prem standard .. Gibson at the back .. good at this level not good enough for the prem .. 'keeper, decent but getting too old .. if they miss promotion this season they'll be in schtuck ..Rhodes ? .. cant see him being a hit at the top level .. BUT with luck like that equaliser !! .. we will see ((:>)

Tutt-Tutt, what do you think of Dale Stephens? Similar to Clayton, or better? I'd always thought Clayton was a class act, but it is interesting to see you see him as a plodder.

Stephens is a better passer than Clayton. Stephens lacks strength on the ball and is not particular quick around the midfield but can play an incisive pass and more importantly has the courage and vision to do so. He has improved since he moved to Brighton. Kayal is a perfect fit as his partner. He gets around midfield, puts his foot in and wins possession, to compliment Stephens passing ability.
The fact that Clayton was completely outplayed in the Everton game, tells me that he isn't good enough for the Premier League. Cleverly & Barkley are obviously both internationals, but that's the reality of the gap between the Divisions. If Brighton go up, Stephens may also struggle because he won't be able to match the strength & workrate of Premier League opposition midfielders and may not get a kick.
Both players would have been watched by Premier League clubs and both are still in the Championship.
