Good job we got Christopher Lepoint instead.4

Probably heard his wage demands and didn't call his agent back (ie they were more than 2.5K a week)Swisdom said:We were talking to Danny Drinkwater last summer. His agent was touting him around as they didn't expect him to get much game time in the Premier League and we met with him.

Assuming it is even true, not a chance Drinkwater would have come to us over other clubs with what our owner would have been willing to pay for real british talent.0

Riyad Mahrez was playing in the French 2nd division, our favourite hunting ground.2
-
He would have made absolutely no difference whatsoever in this squad/side.
And that's not a slur on Drinkwater0 -

It really doesn't matter who we might have signed. Had we bought the whole Leicester squad in the summer we'd still be struggling. To be successful you need committed ownership, skilful management and a positive spirit throughout the club. No amount of good players would bring us success all the time that Duchatelet's poison hangs in the air at Charlton. The regime have turned our club toxic. Until he clears off the only 'what if' game that has any meaning is, what if we'd been bought by someone who loved football and who wanted our club to be successful for genuine footballing reasons rather than as part of some weird visionary experiment.8

Don't be so negative. It will all turn around next season when Nego and Tucadean return.Stig said:It really doesn't matter who we might have signed.
