Based on the admittedly meagre evidence of one first team game for us ...

.... is he good enough to be our no.1 keeper next season?

Wyn Grant was impressed with him.

yes, gametime and the confidence of the no.1 can only improve him

looked nervous at the start but didn't put a foot wrong all game, definitely a good prospect and deserves a chance

when we are going to be strapped for cash next season, we can't afford to splash a big portion of the budget on a keeper

let's try and shop around, bring in an old head for not very much to liven things up and bring through elliot and randolph
  • I thought that he was superb today. Considering it was his first team debut, he could not have played any better. I think this young lad could be a real star!!

Just watched the game on Football First and Randolph made some really excellent saves.

You could tell he was a bit nervous and it looked like he was carrying a bit of extra weight, although this seems not to be that unusual.

He made some excellent saves. He needs to be a bit more commanding but that will grow. My only worry is his inexperience and we can't afford to be leaky defensively next season.

I'd really like to see a few more games before making a final judgement.

carry a bit of extra weight???? where do you get that from - he looks a trim lean mean fighting machine.

as for him playing he is not experienced enough - according to some

could we get Kiely back, he's still a good keeper apparently?

He looked good yesterday, like the Deano of old.

i liked what i say yesterday, but i still don't think he is ready to be number 1. The championship will be more physical and he doesn't look the biggest.

I personally would look to get in a number one, its crucial we start the season with a strong defensive base, and get Randolph a three-month loan at a league one club, getting used to playing regularly.
  • Bring in an experienced keeper - plenty around. Randolph can work with them and if he is good enough challenge them.

We need someone who can combine with the defenders into one stong unit. Not sure Randolph could anywhere near assertive enough yet.

After the game, Pards said that Randolph is a great prospect for the future; I think that makes it clear that he will not start next season as first choice.

When my son had me waiting for the autographs after Sheff Wed Randolph was one of the 1st and he is a big lad about 6'2 at least - Paul Robinson is not the biggest but he's done alright...

I would imagine the real test for the Boy will be when he plays & makes a real rickett, it's how he recovers from that. From what I saw yeterday though I was pretty impressed.

I wish he'd tuck his shirt in though.
