    Don't take this comment as any defence of the regime but I've been attending The Valley since 1961 and every single player we've ever bought has been bought with a profit in mind. The exception is one or two old boys brought in to fulfill a certain role.

    This is patently not true. Yes nearly all clubs will sell at a certain price, but no way are virtually all players bought with a profit in mind.
