That's the look of a man who won't be with us for that much longer. Thanks for everything and good luck at your new club, wherever that may be.

just watched the goal clip on you tube, the "one more year" chant afterwards was deafening - i still have some forlorn hope that he might give us til christmas but i know he's as good as gone... he deserves premiership and international football, his interplay (check the backheel for holland's goal), touch, effort and running the channels was fantastic yesterday and look at that finish!

well done for spending so much time clapping the fans as well - what a gentleman and true pro, wouldn't even begrudge him going to west ham though of course i would hate it on the face of it but know curbs admires him and he'll get the wage he deserves

I would like to claim credit for that chant - please let me have it!

I think Gerrard made a bee line for Benty to swap shirts at the end of the game. I am so pleased I went now & saw him score his last goal for CAFC. He was awesome yesterday.

Did anyone see the little smile and words exchanged between him and Gerrard at the end of the match?

I wonder if Stevie G was having a word in his shell like?

Gerrard loves a shirt. I watched the programme about him and he has them all over his gaff!

if he goes, i hope he goes to liverpool, they will pay miles over the odds with all their new dollars, he might win a trophy and proper international recognition and imo is on a different planet to anything they currently have up front

Wouldn't suprise me if he went to Liverpool, Bellamy has been a flop, Fowler has gone, Kuyt and Bent would be a hell of partnership.

perhaps Bent might feel a bit guilty for not scoring a few more, might make him stay...

only good thing about any move to west scam is we'd get double the fee and darren would get 100k a week! still hopes he goes to top 4 side but have a bad feeling....
  • Anyone reckon we'll sign Fowler ?

    Still a decent player.

would have no problem with him signing for them, £15m thank you v much....as someone else mentioned, him and Kuyt would be pretty formidable I reckon

I think that RM should make it clear that we won't accept anything less than £10m for Bent, £15m if it's west ham.

£15m minimum in the current market and with all the new finance sloshing around in the prem next year!

agree, however nothing less than £12m in my opinion (knowing how much money is floating about the premier now)...we want £10m clear once we've paid Ipswich

I think he should say we won't accept anything less than £15m from anyone. 10m is too cheap.

perhaps they are reluctant to put a minimum price on so we can do players plus cash and not pay Ipswich so much. On the other hand who, who is decent in the prem is gonna want to drop a level anyway.
  • I htink the club are more likely to take players plus cash, therefor not parting with as much to Ipswich and still getting players on board, my worry is that West Ham will use this to there advantage and offer there fringe players such as DAily,Harewood,Konch and Ethrington

would that be such a bad thing? All 4 of those would be ok in the CCC

if we get any players as part of a possible deal i think a panel would have to work out a value of those players, to see the total worth of the deal, and then give ipswich the percentage of the total deal!
