Say we play mitov in goal against West Ham u21, does it count as an official appearance. Likewise with a West Ham player like poyet playing for West Ham u21 against our first team?
There was a rule in place for this competition a few years back that the team you field has to consist of at least 6 players from the previous league game. If that's still the case then we wouldn't be able to simply throw out a youth team of our own.
How to take a competition which few people care about and make it even more irrelevant.
My worry is it's the thin end of the wedge, and will pave the way for B teams in other competitions. Think the fans need to take a stand on this one and boycott the competition entirely.
Also if the PL U21's are drawn away will their stadium be used? So circa 200 people will be going to watch a game at the 60,000 capacity Emirates? Or will we get the absolute insult of playing it at their training ground?
Fucking great, at least no one crows when we get ko'd from a cup against Oldham because no one really cares, now we will have to put up with our Premier team supporting mates.... Your so shit you cant even beat our u21's.
I can see even more utter humiliation being lumped on us at some point very soon

And some of you call Katrien a liar #visionary
Does that mean we have two sides in the competition?
Good experience for them, but a waste of time for us a club.

The 22 man squad will cope.

I wonder how they will decide which five?

Could be the case that the 16 Prem teams are spread across the 16 groups meaning the FL teams are guaranteed 2home games
