This man was incredibly brave. He was literally defending democracy. I commend this petition to everyone.

News tonight said he was recovering at home, so I'd assume he should be reasonably ok, although is probably going to have to take it easy for a while until he's healed up.

Update here.

Turns out, and this is spooky, he and Jo Cox shared the same birthday - yesterday. His supporters hoped for a decision from the Cabinet about an award but I guess it wasn't forthcoming.

Petition up to 37,000, but rather oddly 12,000 from outside the UK.
