getting the 11.20am train down bit later than i wanted but wasnt quick enough to book it up, so went for the cheap option. 4 of us and meeting others there, is there many pubs in oxford as can see the one mentioned getting quite busy?.
There are some great old pubs in Oxford and lots of them. I particularly like The Turf Tavern (decent pub food and tucked down an alley by the Bridge of Sighs), The Eagle and Child, The Lamb and Flag and The White Horse.

Oxford here in peace... I Posted this on another thread before I saw this one... Looking forward to the game. A few pointers for you which might help your day go smoothly. You can get a number 5 bus (they are usually bloody pink for some reason!) from the station to blackbird leys. Then it's a two minute walk to the ground. It takes around 25-30 mins and it will be busy with shoppers as well as football fans. You will share the North stand with Oxford who will have approx 2/3 of it. It's a cracking view of the pitch tbh. If you want a beer before the game go down George St, wetherspoons for breakfast and plenty of other bars along there. If you want a drink near the ground there is a bar and a frankie and bennies behind the open end car park. more than likely you will be kept in by the OB after so allow for that with your train times and the buses back to town will be rammed after as well. Hope this little lot helps, see you Saturday.
It can depend mate. If there's a likely hood of any agg then they will keep you back. Scumdon were kept back for 3/4 hour but that was the "big" local derby effect. They let Millwall out same as us last season and there was all sorts going on. But Peterborough and Brighton were let out same as us and no problem. Other than that I can't really answer that one fully sorry bud.
cheers @ElfsborgAddick cocked up the train times a bit on my part, maybe at oxford they may let me change the ticket?, recent trips, bury and walsall havent even seen a ticket inspector.

@Yellows no worries mate cheers, anyone know what the likelyhood of a penalty is if you get on a different time train?.
I would think it is unlikely any ticket check will take place on the train as there are ticket barriers on most stations on this route, also no seat reservations are given with tickets.
