8th place finish for me so I'm quite happy with that.
I do seem to do fairly well in this competition even winning it once.
Had it not been for the negative effect of the last budget I reckon I would have finished pretty close.
That's the thing when trying to forecast months in advance you never know what's round the corner.
    Brexit
    Covid
    Wars
All these things are hard to predict and all have a significant impact.
Anyway happy new year to you all.
    Not over just yet.

It is now, well done Prague, although sort of winner by default ;-) We go again next month.

Amazing that no-one had below 8200.

Up 5.7% for the year, plus dividend yield. Decent return really. Just that all the gain was H1 so made us optimistic. Probably didn;t realise KS and RR would be quite so stupid.

Just for a bit of fun... Switched out £65k (wife and mine) of holding from premium bonds to stock market (range of ETFs) in December.

    Return Apr-Dec of premium bonds returns - £1,075 - 2.15% annualised
Return so far on investments in investment account - (£802) - a minus 1.23% return.... My plan of CGT not being an issue is working a little too well.

Wife £50 on full holding, me £150 on about 26k, daughter £100 on a similar amount. Next month I'll have £37.5k as put a bit of cash back in.

    EDIT: father in law £100.

And yet for the half year it was the other way round, with everyone way too pessimistic 🤷🏻‍♂️
