Enjoyed getting tickets for the Athletics in 2012, But the fact that 4 of the medal winners that night have been proven to be drugs cheats is disappointing. Thou TBF i had my doubts when the Russian fella cleared the bar on the Pole vault; without using a Pole !

Jade Jones in the taekwondo was a big highlight for me as she's my step second cousin (I think, it's complicated!) - it made a few of my family very happy.
Long time ago I know, but the man who won the 400 metres hurdles in Mexico 1968 in a World record time of 48.12. David Hemery.
British success was rare in those days, primarily because the Eastern bloc were all cheating druggies, the Americans were pretty much professional and the Aussies … well they had nothing better to do than play sport anyway.
David Hemery was a quiet unassuming man and was every inch the British hero, he won the Sports Personality of the Year that year and was presented with the trophy by the great Aussie runner Ron Clarke.
The commentary from that olympic final was also noted for a typical Colemanballs moment where David Coleman in his excitement gabbled that it didn’t matter who came third. It was in fact another British runner John Sherwood.
Bob Beamon jumping to an astonishing world long jump record in the thinner air at altitude in Mexico City in 1968, and his reaction at seeing what he had done is a strong memory, as was the Fosbury Flop as he won gold in the high jump, a genuine innovation which is rare in sport.
I am looking forward to the Olympics, but it would be a shame if it added to social unrest in Brazil.
Is that it went to a country that couldn't afford it, it's raped a generation of people from basic needs like education, hospital treatment, failure to pay wages of people working, shocking health and safety and more mass removals of homeless people and taking them where who knows
The IOC have really shown their true colours and the whole Olympics gravy train has come to an end this year,
2012 how to put on a show 2016 how to close a show
The world is watching and like the workmanship the sewage and cracks are there to see

Bob Beamon winning gold and breaking the world long jump record by nearly 2 feet. 2 freaking feet ffs. Long jump record are beaten by an inch or so at a time - it was like Beamon lept 20 years into the future.Incredible. Coe and Ovett dominating middle distance running. Have to admit I enjoyed Ovett striking first with a gold in Coe's favoured distance. Daley Thompson, Linford Christie, Jonathan Edwards, Dave Hemery, Andy Murray. Any Brit win is enjoyable

I also liked Kelly Holmes' reaction when she realised that she had actually won.
Tomorrow will be different...
The Septics couldn't believe how brilliant he was.
Loved it when Ovett beat Coe.
Abebe Bikila doing exercises after the marathon was a great moment.
Bob Beamon.
Coleman's commentaries.
The Black Power salute in Mexoco (I think).
And much, much more.

It tops my list of sporting events that I've been to.
