It's nice to know poor old Wigan have some decent youth.0

Yes, they lost a number of their best youngsters in the summer, that's a bit of a disappointing performance really, considering the number of highly rated youngsters with 1st team experience in that sideAthletico Charlton said:Slightly surprised a team with Barker, Ness, Mingi, Henry, Powell, Vennings and Davison lost by 3. Wonder what team Wigan had out, all their best players would have moved on in the summer.2 -

Good to see Aouachria back on the bench at last 👍

How is it Avory still hasn't aged in the 20 years since he was my P.E teacher?ForeverAddickted said:Addickted_Since_1986 said:That Harry Taylor on the bench no longer showing as a trialist? Anybody know if he has been given a contract?

He was at Hurstmere School, Sidcup, but that was a lot longer than 20 years ago.

30’ Another goal and we’re level! Another penalty after Quitirna was fouled and Vennings tucks away his second of the afternoon.

Horley in Surrey, certainly not Croydon! 😂Oggy Red said:

To think I sat next to a closet stripey Nigel at Wembley last year. Shudder!

I see you're playing, Henry.
Over-age player, I assume?1 -
From the shirt numbers, and there only being 4 players on the bench, it looks like whoever was down to wear Number 9 was a late withdrawal0

I see Barker is only sub.
Is he being held back to cover any defender contingencies for the 1st team game tomorrow night?

Christ, Bowyer has aged a lot since Saturday. Should imagine that what he would look like if you aged him on FaceAppForeverAddickted said:Addickted_Since_1986 said:That Harry Taylor on the bench no longer showing as a trialist? Anybody know if he has been given a contract?

No, he was promoted to the 1st team because he was young enough to not count under the embargo. As well as he did, others from the U23 squad would have been ahead of him if that wasn't the case. They probably are ahead of him again now.Oggy Red said:I see Barker is only sub.

Good point. Was it the fact that Barker was only a scholar and not professional that enabled him to be selected?Cafc43v3r said:

Otherwise professional under-21s like Jay Mingi could have been selected.
Edit: I remember now. Any pro at any level that appeared for the 1st team would have counted as a 1st team player - and denied Bowyer the chance to sign another player under embargo.
