I've always thought that there is a problem for players on the fringe of the first team, as they don't play in the U23s because they might be needed for the first team, but then end up on the bench and not playing for the first team either. With midweek games this becomes even more of an issue.2 -

I completely agree, and it's why I think some calling for a 25-man squad of senior professionals is ridiculous at our level (in addition to budgetary constraints). As it stands, I suspect Dijksteel is unhappy he's not been in a first team squad in the league this season. Reeco is banging them in for the U23s but doesn't quite look ready for the first team. KAG is KAG. Barnes looks like a player who needs some senior football to improve him. We have a lot of nearly but not quite players right now, and those who seem to be ready, like Konsa and Dijksteel, find themselves behind very good central defenders and midfielder (and also Solly for Dijksteel).killerandflash said:
