I so hope I am proved wrong but I have a horrible feeling that Slade is every bit as average as his career record suggests, but perhaps worse lacks the skills to win round fans while maintaining control over the playing side. I am not sure how the job was sold to him ("Look, Russell, it's the only job you're likely to be offered") but why does it seem already that the regime and tweaking, if not yet pulling, his strings.4

We have to remember he's been sold short and he has been playing a clever leverage game with Meire and RD. Most of us haven't seen his side play yet, so far too early for this nonsense. we look as guilty as Meire and RD looking to sack managers inside six months. I reckon Slade might walk himself inside six months if he isn't given the support I believe he was promised. That would be the best result assuming he isn't going to make us competitive in Division Three.4
