Lookman and Tex haven't played a lot of first team games so their departure wouldn't be considered 'major'.

Lookman who has just taken number 7.

Losing to Bury and Cheltenham is two reasons.

Tex will go, Ba will go, Lookmam will go if someone comes in for him. If Arsenal were there on Tuesday them based on his performance I can't see them falling over themselves to put a bid in.

I still rate him, but I think the hype as got above his performances. He hasn't really done anything of note yet to suggest some 5m + bid.

My dad made a good point. He compared him to Paul Walsh when he broke through. He said Paul had 2 good consistent seasons achieving success with us before he was rightly sold. In today's short term glitz and glamour football, a handful of decent appearances and suddenly Lookmam is destined for a top 4 club

Lookman has to go a long way to be a good as Walsh was when he broke through.

"Wow I don't wanna be coming there every week"

Exactly what the majority of our own fans think Russ.
  • Ademola must've found this out at the interval Tuesday night. Little wonder looked cheesed off in the 2nd half.
Wondering how come Harriott's escaped the mad house and I'm still here.

That's exactly what my old man said
  • He seems like he's really struggling to believe the own stuff he's saying. Katrien must be contagious

Using the Katrien Kalculator two players coming in means seven going out.

    Is the real answer.

Think Lookman will stay (or at least come straight back on loan).

Tex is the only one who will go i think, which is not major in the sense we have Bauer and Pearce, backed up by Lennon and RoJo.

He doesn't look or sound happy

    https://youtu.be/2vc5812LlKE

I think this interview is much better, I really do want to get behind him regardless of the Belgians.

    Tuesday made that very difficult.

He's keeps saying about these things taking time, but surely even he can see we've had months to prepare like every other club in the league?

He can't see any major departures, players who haven't featured yet couldn't be classed as major could they? Sorry to be a pessimist, but Tex and Bauer haven't played and can't really be called major right now. I'm also wondering if he's making that statement to try and give himself some safety if the players are sold anyway..

On the academy "it's something that's not broken and it's still solid"... LOL! What are you trying to say about our club, Russell? :D

    Lying Bald Shithouse

    Lookman and who??
  • Seriously though, is it just me, or is anyone else impressed by Slade's patience?
  • Well I think Tex is possibly the highest earner in the club or at least close so if he departs I think that can be classed as major.

If he has decided or it's been decided that we can afford to keep him then that is also major.

I'm not negative, I think we have a good chance of staying up now.
  • He loves the word "patient".
Also mentions 4 players they have let go... I thought we had let more go than that.( a lot more)
Still like him though and comes across really enthusiastic.
Think a few on here need to be a little more patient.

Four gone since he arrived probably. The actual figure since last season is around 15.

23 if you count all of the players that have been sold, end of loans, released (including a couple of youngsters) or sent out on loan. Make that 24 when Bergdich's future is finally announced.

Most of whom got absolute pelters on this forum if they were seen even modelling a Charlton shirt...
  • He loves the word "patient".

'Course he does - Kashi, Bauer, Novak, Diarra, Solly, Lennon, Tex, Charles-Cook - all under the doctor to a greater or greater extent. As the basis of a crocks squad that's more than decent.

Seriously tho', if he tells me it's raining I'm gonna need to go outside to check and ask for a 2nd opinion to be sure. Never has singing from the same hymn sheet been so discordant and nauseating.
I wonder if Latrien's "Top 6" budget has provision for all the grease paint required to cover the dark brown stain on Slade's nose, every time they wheel him out to disseminate more bilge?

    Zak Ansah - Shame
Reza Ghoochannejhad Not really a shame as he was never going to cut it in the rougher game
    Alex Kelly Who
Marco Motta Shame, liked him, would have bossed RB in L1
    Ayo Obileye No comment
Joe Pigott Had some chances, failed to ever look any good.
    Josh Staunton Who?
George Țucudean Wish I could say who here
    Marko Dmitrović Dissapointed
Jordan Cousins not overly dissapointed, except for the fact he hasn't been replaced.
    Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson Dissapointed
    Nick Pope Dissapointed
    Stephen Henderson Dissapointed
    Callum Harriott Dissapointed
Naby Sarr No idea if he would kick on, doubt it.
    Tony Watt Dissapointed
Cristian Ceballos Dissapointed, i'll never see another pro-footballer take a worse corner than me.
Igor Vetokele Dissapointed, hope he comes back fighting
Simon Makienok Dissapointed it didn't work out, he might have been ok in L1
Yaya Sanogo Dissapointed we couldn't get him for longer, work horse if nothing else
Yun-Suk Young Dissapointed I liked him.
    Diego Poyet Piss off w***er
Rod Fanni Dissapointed, I liked him.

Would not be too disappointed if Tex goes. I know he is top class and probably one of the best centre backs in the league. However it is one of the positions where we have a surplus of options.

I think Pearce and Bauer as first choice with Lennon as first reserve (his performances for the gills last year proved he is good enough) and Konsa/Johnson being fourth choice between them will be enough for the season.

If Tex has to go and that allows us to get 2 centre mids in then I wouldn't complain in the slightest.
