I've always been very taken with this shot of the 1911 expedition to the Antarctic. I saw it in a magazine a few years ago and there was just something about it.

You wait all month to get the perfect shot of the sun and it gets photo-bombed by a moon and and two passing craft and you end up with a picture that looks like a sad emoji leaning to its left

I'm no photographer and those images are wonderful but how much manipulation of the original is involved ?
