Cheap Energy Club

I've heard this advertised on the radio this week. It's that Martin Lewis chap. Basically says register and then they get the best market deal for everyone signed up and you can switch if you want at no fee to yourself.

If you're already smart on these things and already get the best deal, then it might not be a great help. But if you don't, it could save you hundreds per annum.

We used this last time it was on offer around 3 months ago changing from British Gas to EDF.

Definitely saving us apprx £30pm plus there's a cashback payment of £30 once the new account is established.

However, NEVER believe the hype as to how easy it is to actually switch!

We had a nightmare, especially with BG, and I was reduced to tears of anger & frustration several times before it was finally sorted.

And please don't ever mention Indian Call Centres to me !

I switch every year & never have a problem. It's pot luck I suppose. I'm paying £600pa less than I was a few years ago, when I started to look into it & switch.
  • Same, change every year. Tried to convince my 92 year old gran to switch from British Gas as she's been with them for years and paying well over the odds but she wasn't having it.
  • Switched my parent's suppliers and saved them £580 per year.
  • doesn't cost a thing and allows you to shop around .. what's not to like unless you're loath to divulge even more 'private info' onto the net
  • If you use oil for heating, like us country folk, sign up to the Oil Club. They take regular orders from people in your area and then go to suppliers and bulk buy at big discounts. Save yourself bundles.

Signed up to the 'Cheap Energy Club' a few months ago. Ended up switching to First Utility and now pay just £44 per month for electricity & gas, saved myself a packed. Switch over was very easy as well.

If anyone is interested, the following link will also get you a £25 Amazon gift card when you switch:
