My advice would be to get yourself a brand new Hyundai for 100 quid a month, with 5 year warranty mate.Karim_myBagheri said:Had some bad news with my cars engine today, (it is over 18 years old so it was bound to give up the ghost at some point) so am starting too look for a new/used model. Been looking about and seen there's a dealership called 'UK Car Club ltd' on shooters hill near the sun in the sands. cant see any reviews on the web for them so just wondered if anybody has had any experience with them before? If they're trustworthy and reasonably priced?
thanks in advance.2 -
sounds pretty good, but I don't think you own the car at the end of the contract. not from what I can see anyway.0

@Karim_myBagheri you've probably seen the companies house info which gives the names of the directors, their dates of birth, date of incorporation and no outstanding charges as at the last annual return however one is due shortly.

In the old days you could obtain a status report on a business through your bank which if all good would say something like 'good for normal business engagements including your figure and purpose'.

Not sure if this service is still available though but you can of course always request an AA or RAC vehicle check or have a quick look here http://www.confused.com/vehicle-check Good luck.2 -
Thanks for all that @RedChaser
Much appreciated.1 -
a fellow runner at Plumstead Runners runs Canbridge Motors in Plumstead. Ask for Gary, he's a good bloke. They specialise in ex mobility cars.1

18 years old? Think its about time you upgraded to an Austin Allegro or Maxi, most models come with cassette player as standardKarim_myBagheri said:Had some bad news with my cars engine today, (it is over 18 years old so it was bound to give up the ghost at some point) so am starting too look for a new/used model. @Karim_myBagheri subsequently found that this dealer also has premises (half a dozen cars up an alley on Google maps) at Manor Park E126AD https://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/ltd/uk-car-club1

I'm waiting for something similar to happen to my car, but still have a few years before it 18 years old.
I bought my first ever car from Ray Morris in Welling (near big Tesco). I know it's not Shooters Hill but it's on the same long long long road! (bloody Romans!) Mainly automatics but they do a few manuals. Seemed good at the time (25 years ago mind you!) and has been there years without changing it name.
If you lease then be careful of the mileage limitation. Normally you're only allowed to drive 6k per year without incurring penalties. That is a no deal for me which is why I'm now saving up for a pre registered for when my darling finally goes.
Good luck1 -
My present car is an 08 plate, and I searched on the internet for used cars. I bought it as used from a main Ford dealer in Gillingham with 25 miles on the clock at a massive discount.
Used, with twenty five miles on the clock, all the usual warranties minus about four months.0 -
