Funny you mention Herne Hill, I was browsing the London Irish rugby clubs shop earlier on and there was a cracking t-shirt commemorating their first match, against Hammersmith, which was held there.
I ended up doing a bit of reading and found that it was also the home of the London Welsh for 40 years, and hosted the amateur FA Cup final one year - featuring Bromley.
It's really fascinating to learn about the history of the places you see everyday!.
