That's Pompey promoted in the next couple of years.

I thought it strange their manager left after just gaining promotion.

I thought that too. I guess Wigan are seen as a bigger club at this point in time. But Portsmouth seem to be pretty well run and stable. It doesn't seem like a huge step up for me.

Long term, you'd have thought Pompey would have more potential than Wigan. A much bigger fanbase, and a city to themselves, whereas Wigan are dominated by the Manchester and Liverpool giants, and the town itself is more of a Rugby town

One of the things you have to remember about Pompey is that it is fan-owned and run now. Therefore there is no extravagant expense - in the case of Cook i would suspect that that he was simply offered more money at Wigan.
In saying that, Pompey's avergae gates were huge for Tier 4 and will obviously increase in T3.
According to the bookies, Pompey are second favourites to go up, and we are 7th...

Have a lot of respect for Kenny Jackett always seem a decent bloke when ever interviewed. I don't care about his Millwall connections. Would happily take him if Bowyer isn't given the chance.

I think he would come if approached, always compliments us.
