  • Seems unreal this morning.
  • Another great day out and a reminder that we regularly used to take on and beat the "big boys".
  • That was the most incredible game, they were all great but Jensen was superb.

Honestly Douchebag & Daisy can you EVER see yourselves achieving ANYTHING like THIS - I'll answer that one for you both as I know you don't do honesty, the correct & honest answer would of course be NO #getreal

Oh I dont know I mean lets at least give KR the January window and then perhaps a full pre season.....or alternately they can f##$$ off now I suppose
  • I started a chant of 'we want 5' at that game...how many non-gooners have ever done that at Highbury / The Emirates? Happy days :-)
  • Do you know, I had forgotten entirely about Johansson actually having a decent haricut...

    A great, great game.
  • I was moving house that day, didn't even know the score until the dust settled :disappointed:

  • I REALLY enjoyed that one #22
  • Watched it at a mates house, first 10/15 minutes we were thinking Christ we're gonna get hammered today, first two goals amazed, 2nd two we're jumping around like lunatics. Even parker looked like he enjoyed it  What a game, what a team, what are this lot doing at OUR great CLUB

    Unbelievable day !

If only we could experience 2% of that euphoria again.....

Watched it round my mate Dave's (Tottenham fan) house. He nearly converted to an Addick and was almost as happy as me. What a team. Roland you are such a fuckwit prick coz you could have got us back with Powell in charge. Tosser. Merry xmas !
  • Remember this. Would have been 10 years old. Was playing for my sunday league team, at the Meridian sports ground. At the final whistle someone told us we were winning 4-1. By the time we got to the clubhouse to watch the rest, it was 4-2. Still brilliant to watch the end of the game, and I've watched those goals a hundred times since...
  • Have the tape of that game,so proud to be a Charlton supporter.
    Can't say that these days.
  • That central midfield partnership of Parker and Jensen was something special, wasn't it? Only pairing since who have come anywhere close is Crofts and Foley:-)

Oh Lord, it hurts to see how far we have fallen in such a short time.

  • It's hard to imagine what that must feel like. These days it'd be an achievement if we made the third round.
  • My Mum and her family lived just off Woolwich Road. She had no interest in football but she told me about watching the open top bus tour and how everyone in the area thought it was a great achievement.

With these clowns in charge it won't be too long before they see it as a major achievement reaching the first round proper. :disappointed:
  • Love that clip that shows the team coming up into Charlton Village, virtually unchanged from nearly 70 years ago.
  • I bought a ticket from a tout that day and had to sit in the North Bank surrounded by Arsenal fans.To a man they all thought they would win after Henry got their second after 60 mins.I have to confess it was a very long 30 minutes until the final whistle. After the game I saw Michael Grade walking along the road and said to him "did you enjoy that michael".He had a beaming grin on his face and said "oh yes I cant wait to see all my Arsenal supporting pals".That was a great day to me an addick.
  • Love the scenes on the coach ... wonderful.
  • I remember watching the first goal go in and my husband suggested I go with him to take my daughter to the park rather than sitting there watching Charlton get embarrassed. I declined and stayed in front of the TV, when he returned we were 4-1 up, I wouldn't let him in until the game had finished just in case he jinxed it.
    Happy Days

You couldn't persuade him to to to the park, and then not let him back in, again could you?

If you could manage it for August to May each year, that would be great....
  • Great, great video of the FA Cup victory. "I'm not interested in the history". NOT a lie. Moron.
  • Just caught up with all of them. Shame about the EFL and number 15, but above all, what a great tribute to us by CARD. Some powerful emotions stirred. Despite the cancer owning our club at the moment, knowing we've had a history like that and the spirit within our fan base, we will soon get back to those glory days.
  • One question ahead of tomorrow's video (assuming it's what we expect it to be): will it feature the Mansfield/Powell commentary with Mark and Paddy choking up with emotion at the end?
