  • Good to see the packed away end in the first goal on that video too
  • Under Curbs we were always a well organised team and knew how to ground out results, but these clips do show how good some of the football really was.
We really did have some great players back then.

I hope @Nug vhs is still working, I wanna see Andy Jones curl one in from the corner of the penalty area at Shithurst against Spurs again.....

It's already been mentioned, but just to re-iterate that the advent calendar is entirely the work of one person - and it's a big, time consuming job.

So I just want to publicly recognise and thank the creative genius behind this (and so much more).

Take a bow @Nug . Truly brilliant stuff.

Excellent work Nug, take a bow mate you deserve that
many thanks for some wonderful reminders

Unreal player, still pisses me off he didn't go to the World Cup in 2006 - and fucking Theo Walcott did

Definitely. Another reminder (as if we needed one) that the FA and it's cronies are completely clueless.
  • Any chance of sending all the 24 days to Roland when it's done ?

If anything manages to stir the 1.5% of his brain labelled " CAFC" then this would......

    ....maybe .

That is surely an award winning pass for the 1st goal. Outstanding.

    Darren Bent. Excellent forward.

Darren Bent, Bent, Bent! Great player for us, never the same after he joined Dirty Harry's ranks.

I'm not saying Ajose is anywhere near Darren's level, but if we had someone who could pass like that in our midfield, Ajose would be scoring a lot more.

I think Harry ruined Benty to be honest.

"Harry" and "Bent" in the same sentence? He'll have his lawyers on you.
  • Good work, I wondered when this one might pop up.
  • Nug you need to go on the what's good about Christmas thread, outstanding and thank you
  • Shalalalalalalala...
One of the highlights of my Charlton supporting life that day.
I don't recall Jonny Fortune scoring any other headed goals from corners and I always felt that his determination to get on the end of that was a consequence of feeling hard done by with the penalty, which he couldn't get out of the way of.

    And Crystal Palace are relegated....again

    Wonderful!
  • Great tribute to Bartram and Seed and to see a crowd of 37,000. I wonder who the mascot was at the kick-off?

For a long time I've thought that we'll never have another player who makes that number of appearances. Now, I seriously wonder if in the future we'll have anyone who makes over 100 (including managers).
  • I really enjoyed that one.
  • Fantastic, Nug! Absolutely loving starting every day with these windows into our better times. Tear jerkers every one. Thank you and wish I had been able to see the great Sam.
