Rio's company gives £500,000 of toys to kids.

Brilliant.

But he's at pains to announce all over the internet he needs no thanks.

So it's no thanks from me then. But I do hope the kids enjoy his selfless largesse.

In fairness the initial tweet doesn't mention anything about the amount and looks more like it was done to raise awareness of the charity. It was only when a local radio DJ called him to find out more that the amount was mentioned.
Well done to him though, he's done a good thing.
  • Its easy to knock the actions of others. And maybe it is easier for him to do the things he does than it might be for others but at least he is trying to make a difference to the lives of the less fortunate in the world.
    Well done Rio.

Footballers / Celebs, damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Didn't Becks get ridiculed for donating his wages to charity during his time at PSG? All to do with tax apparently.

But try telling the charities who received the money and the people who it ultimately helps that it's all to do with tax evasion or to massage their egos, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't care a less tbh

The ones who do me in are those who have made a career out of telling us how to part with our money and the charity bosses who rake in 100k upwards to run the charities.

*I spose I better put here that I ain't normally a fan bla bla*

    Well done Rio

  • Well Done Rio, Shame on those who in anyway try to turn a positive into a negative against him.

    Yes, well done Rio!
  • well done Rio.

perhaps those questioning the reasons for him doing it would feel better if he withdrew the gesture to fit their perception of him.

I'd sooner Rio give 500k to a children's charity (or any charity come to that) for a bit of publicity than give it to an advertising agancy

People will always see the negative/spin something into a negative; world we live in now days.

I would feel assured if Rio would confirm taht he has paid all his tax in full and on time and hasnt used any tax aviodance schemes.

For Rio forgetting to pay tax can be as easy as forgettting to take a drugs test.
  • Well done Rio
  • Rio, well done mate. How can anyone be negative about this gesture is beyond me. There are some very sad people out there.
