Anyone going to any of the matchplay this year? Or has been before?

Got tickets for tomorrow and Thursday. Can't wait after watching the last few days!

I went a few years ago. Preferred it to the World Championship - much better venue and atmosphere.

Been watching it on the telly... Anderson's match was a cracker. He lost despite averaging 105 against Daryl Gurney

Anyone know what availability is like after the priority sale? Presume it's just seats in the stands left as usual?

wouldn't be hard to enforce as the industry makes enough bunce in these mythical "transaction fees"
  • Got mine just now...14 of us for my Birthday on the 20th Dec. Love a night at the darts!

Quite well known that the tickets sites are buying up these tickets and selling themselves on the re-sale sites. It's a complete disgrace that these sites are allowed to operate the way they do. Having re-sale sites is fine but they should be at face value + any fees, making a profit should not be allowed.

As an aside, twickets is a good source. They only sell at face value or less, you can set up an alert when new tickets are posted for an event you want.

yeah its a disgrace tbh, its basically legal touting, i think particularly bad is when its for kids events, like concert that are a primarily young audience.

Any spares going? Viagogo also want £14 per ticket booking fee. Absolutely scandalous

World Darts and also a certain boxing promoter - spot the link!

They all do it to a degree but Matchroom are by far the worst.

I booked for this night as well. 14 of us in your block too. Really wanted to get a table but ended up being in the stands due to the tables only taking 6 per booking! It's a brilliant atmosphere wherever you are in there though. I went last year and was in the stands and still can't recommend it highly enough. Fair play Barry Hearn - he has revolutionised the game.

According to Culture Secretary Sajid Javid, ticket touts are “classic entrepreneurs” and their detractors are the “chattering middle classes and champagne socialists, who have no interest in helping the common working man earn a decent living by acting as a middleman”.

Ended up paying £72 for a table seat on Weds 20th. 4 of us going. Hated paying that much but by the time it comes around I would have forgot about the prices hopefully. Never been before so very excited.

For £72 you may as well have got a VIP ticket.

Okay it'll be double the price but you get a free dinner and free booze all night.

With the price of a pint there you'll probably end up spending more than the price of a VIP ticket too.
