  • ....all now been 'gentrified' by plastic Londoners, no doubt

I'd contest that, but if you're used to 'spoons prices, the cost of a round can be eye-watering in some of these hostelries.
  • I may have been in the Lamb and Flag. Otherwise none of them.
  • Definitely 6.
  • 4 for me, the Ship in Holborn used to be our work local for years

Just out of interest, how much does an average pint cost these days?

I remember years back having some breakfast in Spoons in Rochester and them having a poster on the sandwichboard with a round of about 10 different drinks if bought at 4 or 5 local NAMED boozers with the Spoons prices at the end. I can't remember exactly how much the difference was as it was a long time ago, but it was massive, £16 in Spoons Vrs about £24 in the next cheapest pub does comes to mind. Race to thdo bottom
  • 2 lamb and flag and the george inn

Considering most of us live or work near London we haven't done that many have we
  • Four or five.

Blackfriar most lunchtimes when worked at BNY Mellon round the corner.

Walk past em all at some point or another, but I was on the sites up town mostly, so rarely had a drink. The only boozer I remember having a good drink in after work anywhere near the city was The Globe at Moorgate.
  • Definitely 5....could be more, walked from Eltham to the City and may have popped in to one of the Wapping ones. Went to the Nags Head last year but it was so packed we decided to give it a miss.
  • 6, I can remember!

  • 4 definitely,
    3 probably,
    possibly more
  • Was expecting to say none as not been much of a drinker over the years but definitely 4. Was in the Prospect of Whitby only a few weeks ago.

We probably drank in there at the same time on a few occasions I reckon.
  • 7. Genuinely surprised - I've always thought I don't get out much!
  • Only 2.

Have been to all the pubs with a BR1 and BR2 postcode though.

And never brought a single round.
    Not the first one deffo.

  • 5- I used to drink in The French House quiet often when I worked in Soho, don't remember it looking as good as it does in the photos

    7. A sign, I suppose, of a misspent youth, middle age, and old age.

Edited to add a useless bit of trivia: The Grapes in Narrow St. was (still is?) owned by Sir Ian McKellen.
  • Just the one,The George .

Because it's usually so busy that you can't see the fittings!

I've definitely been to 6 and I think probably 7 of them.
  • I've done 10 - all of them except the Nag's Head in Belgravia.

I'm pretty sure I had a quick butchers at this book, 'Great Pubs of London', whilst in Daunts Books just before Christmas. The other 11 pubs featured included, amongst others, Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, The Cross Keys and, I think, Ye Olde Mitre Tavern and the Jamaica Wine House.
  • 6 for sure, maybe one or two mor of the west London ones.

Rare to get change out of £5 for a pint/bottle of lager although cannot think of a PUB that it costs more than £6 for a lager

    No wonder you're bar shy
