I can understand the rest, but why are you logging your bone mass, do you expect it to change?

If you read the thread that a lot of us are interested in then you would've seen a post about a set of scales that measures all the things you mentioned.

I can't wade into that thread to find out which scales are being mentioned but I have had this one from Beurer for a year now. Recommended by "Which". It connects to both Apple and Google smart phones.

Beurer are German and I don't think 'consumer smart IT" is a German strength, the smartphone connectivity was a bit glitchy in the early days; and they could learn from people like Fitbit about presenting the info effectively. (and customer service)

But it is interesting to measure some of these things. I do it daily, which some advise against, and I certainly sometimes end up abusing the scales in a way I normally reserve for the ref at Charlton, for a set of figures which seem to go against everything I did or didn't do yesterday, but over time, it doesn't lie.

Does anybody know if lowering body fat% is likely to lower chloresterol levels?

  • Have you asked Alexa?
  • Have you asked Alexa?

Not having her in my house, thank you.
  • Hey guys

I'm going to be building an app soon that will allow you to log all the Tanita data as well as allowing you to log work outs.

It won't sync to anything yet but maybe one day I'll get around to that!l
  • Looks ideal but seems only to be for ios platform

Hi I use Samsung s health to keep track of walking but will do most of what you want although you may have to do it all manually

I can't see where on sHealth I can log any of it apart from weight

Yes, it's useful to track this over time just to keep an eye on it. Some exercise can increase low bone mass so preventing problems when I get older

    Have you asked Alexa?

Haha, I actually got Alexa from my husband for Christmas, she's pretty useless!

That sounds great, will it have all those features in? Ideally, I'd love to have an all in one app so that I can analyse my sleep patterns against weight loss, heart rate etc. I have a background in data analysis which is probably why it interests me

I have the VonHaus ones which are quite good, got them over a year ago before I thought about being able to connect them to my fitbit etc. Regret not researching a bit more into it now

I don't do it daily, although I did once just to see what the different fluctuations were over a week. It's just not helpful haha. I now only do it weekly. Lowering your body fat % doesn't really have an impact on cholesterol in blood levels but the activities that reduce your body fat lead to lower your levels due to the improvement in diet and increase in exercise. But don't take my word for this as I am not an expert.

That depends on whether FitBit has an Open API... if so that'll be a feature later down the line. I'd like to also build between strava and my fitness pal.
  • Stop posting and get working then
  • I had one of these but it just made a funny kind of noise.

When I put my ear up to my phone it sounded like "you fat bastard, you fat bastard".
