i never expected the result at Bolton. however I just cant see us getting into a play off position by the end of the season as I don't think our squad is good enough. have to see I guess.
as for we're slowly getting our Charlton back I cant see that happening till the fan base is united and under this owner that is never going to happen. so no we're not slowly returning to what we were. unless you've heard Roland is about to sell up to someone?0 -
Roland has appointed a decent manager at the 7th attempt, we've had a good win, and the CEO is still gagged. And there are persistent rumours that Roland is under pressure to sell, so what's not to like?2

The difference is i treat the matches as 95 odd minutes which i always want Charlton to win without thinking of any long term ambitions because i know what Douchebag did to Standard when they had a very successful season 5 years ago when he then sold the five best players and the rest is history.
We will continue to count the days with 3blokes but until that day happens we still need to be a competitive football team because the hole we are in will turn into an abyss even under new owners, if we are too far into Duchatelet's Downtrodden Dystopian Dark Dank Dreary Despairing Doom.2 -

Incompetent big-nosed liar still managing things on a daily basis. Check.
Club still millions in debt. Check.
Still being charged interest on those millions. Check.
Player recruitment still in the hands of a spotty computer nerd who knows more about nappy rash than he does about football. Check.
Manager turnover still running at more than 2 per season. Check.
Most promising players still sold, every transfer window. Check.
Mid-table position in the Third Division. Check.
Out of both cups. Check.
The Valley more than half empty for all home games. Check.
Please forgive me if I keep that Champagne on ice a little longer.

To be fair this post was a little bit rash given the original poster's comment. What I meant was, I don't think much has changed. KR may get a little bit more out of the team but it's not going to be enough to get us up imo.soapboxsam said:

I had a good feeling with two Latvian girls I met last night, so good that I sent selfies of the three of us to a load of people on WhatsApp at 4am.
In fact, when I left their gaff and jumped in a taxi at 7am, I went as far as sending a photo of Johnny Jackson doing a knee slide to all my pals too.

In case it wasnt clear, I can't share your optimism. Charlton wont be Charlton until they've gone.
We're mid table in League One, preparing for a future crippled with debt, whilst being some egomaniacs play thing. Not exactly putting a grin on my face to be honest.
We're in a worse situation than we'd been in for a couple of years before he bought us. We've regressed at a staggering pace over the past few years, and I've seen nothing to suggest this trend wont stop.
A few wins here and there still wont get us promoted this season, something that should've been an expectation, and it wont even get us back to where we were when Roland came in.
No. I'm disappointed with this season and I'm disappointed with the circumstances that got us here. A few wins - albeit including a fantastic one - doesn't change a great deal.3 -

Yeah. Whether they need it or not, it's accepted because of their youth and naivety. Of course the team can improve on the pitch and I hope they do. But the running of the club will remain the same because fans who have been paying attention for the last 3 years have seen the same thing repeated over and over.1
