Pretty vague about the location. Certainly premature to blame it on Charlton supporters, and if it wasn't Charlton fans then seems a bit unfair that they've not made that clear.

Conversely, if it was Charlton supporters then they should make that clear too so that Katrien can release an official statement confirming that the club intends to investigate just as soon as they've concluded the Companies House-gate manhunt.

It happened as the team were leaving The Valley stadium following Saturday afternoon’s 1-1 draw with Charlton Athletic.

  • After finding the doors locked, they snapped the vehicle’s wing mirrors off

Maybe they wanted to fashion a door key out of the plastic mirror casing?

These are professionals, no doubt about it

Life was so much simpler with the Bay City Rollers.

    Shang-a-lang
    Underrated Undertalented band.
@Henry Irving and I first met at a Rollers gig in '76. His favourite was Les, mine was Derek. Says it all, really.

If they snapped the wing mirrors off surely the coach would have had to stop for repairs. No way can you drive those vehicles without wing mirrors. It would be illegal for one thing. It's all very odd.

Didn't @Ollywozere say that CCTV in the immediate vicinity of the Valley didn't show any trouble ?

This is probably at the traffic lights at the junction of CCL with the Woolwich Road. CCTV wouldn't show anything down there.

Also says "as it drove through London" and "as it stopped at traffic lights", so pretty clear that they had LEFT The Valley, unless some traffic lights have been installed at the entrance to the car park since I last looked.

Could be at the traffic lights down the hill from the station or at multiple points along Woolwich Road.

We were told today that it was up the road from the stadium and it was one individual who threw one bottle (didn't damage window) and then ripped off the driver's smaller wing mirror (rather than the big two).
Seems it's a case of one bloke having an argument with a coach. For what reason, I guess only he would know!
So it could have been a bit of road rage with another driver or a pedestrian. Seems like a storm in a teacup.
  • Sort it out Fleetwood shit club no fans

  • When didn't one of the Fleetwood contingent on the coach at the time that had a mobile phone take pictures ? What's the chances of that not happening these days ?

    Shit club.....They've got no phones
  • All the evidence clearly points towards a disgruntled Millwall oik causing trouble and trying to besmirch the fine name of Charlton Athletic

You may have a point. Has Big Bad World been on here since Saturday? In hiding?

So Fleetwood Town media team blowing the whole incident out of proportion? Followed by local press?

It's wrong, of course it is, but that's just ridiculous if it was one bloke!
  • So this happened at the trafic lights by the pub the away supporters use and there was no police there just an hour after full time?

Given that there was so few of them one would have thought that there would have been at least one bobby on duty to ensure that there was not a breach of the peace.
  • so a total non story really !
  • edited February 2017
We will probably learn at a later date that the coach pulled up at the Antigallican lights and a scruffy random herbert with a bucket of cold dirty water and dodgy battered squeegy attempted to clean the windscreen. He then asked for a fiver and some norvern tightwad waved him away, "Get thee gone lad, er fiver fer nowt but a bit er water n grease... eeh oop, ecky thump..." (you get the gist?).

And before you comment, my pitch is down by the Woolwich ferry roundabout!
  • This has all gone a bit quiet. Any news? No reaction from CAFC officially. I thought thry may clarify it?
