I don't think he posts on here, but I have just seen on Twitter (from his own Tweets) that this young Charlton fan (22) who works for Crawley Town as media manager has recently been diagnosed with testicular cancer. I know him a little from some dealings with CAS Trust - he wrote his dissertation on network club owners, comparing and contrasting Watford and Charlton.

He's still a Thunder though!!!!! ;-)
All the best Alex, hope you make a full recovery and are back doing what you love very soon.
No matter how good those stats look, they don't go into the psychological effect it can have on men of such a young age or indeed the intensive therapies that are available to beat this disease.
A frequent poster on this board has gone though this in the past year and I take my hat of to him in the way he has dealt with it. No complaints, just accepting the shit hand that was dealt to him and has got on with it.
I hope one day he feels comfortable enough to share his experiences, how he fought from day one and how he dealt with the highs and sometimes very lows of his treatment. His experiences will be a Godsend for other young men - like Alex - who suffer with this disease.
Us men are terrible about talking about this sort of thing with each other. It is seen as a weakness or a flaw is our machismo. Women somehow manage to feel comfortable talking about similar issues like breast and cervical cancer, whereas we just tend to ignore it or mention it under our breaths before we change the subject.
If you read this, very very best to you mate from everyone here
Check your balls regularly, many don't.
Chemotherapy scheduled for next month but the response has been amazing - it won't win.
Very lucky with my job and the people around me - and the support of CAFC fans too.
You're a wonderful bunch, very grateful. I'll endeavour to keep you posted on my progress - but plan to do that on Twitter anyway.
Many thanks again.
