2 promotions on small budgets (100 points in league one after 1 point and bottom from first 4 games) in the space of 3 seasons, currently sitting 8th in the Premiership the fellas worked miracles beyond reason

Sheffield United were always going to come good
If "going to come good" is reaching the PL again then 13 years is a long time for it happen.
Here's a thought. If Sheffield United win their game in hand against Villa and the season is then declared completed, they will be in the Champions League next season.
That would have been beyond any Blades supporter's Wilders dream when their manager took over four years ago a side that had just finished 11th in League 1
That's quite some interview. Not sure if Wilder comes out of that very well. Interesting that players on loan must be payed the same amount of pay or more than than they would earn at their parent clubs. Wonder if that applied only to Prem. clubs.
The idea some on here where bounding around that Wilder was financially get able is blown away by that as well, he was on about £4m a year looking at that.
"We said, 'no way are we going to pay you £4m, you are resigning, we are not firing you, why would we have to pay almost one year's salary?'"

It was his Club. A coming home. It was more than just money.
Can’t believe £60m these days only gets you quality of Rhian Brewster, David McGoldrick, Billy Sharp, Oli McBurnie, Oliver Burke and Lys Mousset. Majority of those are not premier league quality in my opinion.

Sharp & McGoldrick wouldn't figure in that £60million outlay though, having signed prior to promotion to the top flight.
Of course, their pedigree at the top level is questionable, but then they are both on the wrong side of 30, so it is to be somewhat expected.

No chance he was on 4mil a season. More like 1.5ish plus bonuses I’d say. Guy at work reckons he got a nice bonus for keeping them up but to be fair the revenue they got for the extra year in the year would have been 10 times any bonus he got paid.

OWhy would a player take a pay cut to go on loan? Parent clubs often continue to pay part, or all, of a players wages when sending them on loan.
Gallagher would have been one of our top earners, no way were we paying all of that.

Ratman would've sacked him within 3 months..........
beyond reason

Every team will be on equal games played so if the season got cancelled everything would be decided on PPG

It was about even more money.
