I can only hope this weekend has turned the heat right up. The good thing is that the only thing that could possibly even curb our rage is a run of results on the pitch. Their incompetence and mismanagement of the footballing side of the club has put pay to that.
I know CARD will have to debrief and regroup after yesterday's mammoth effort, but I would love one more big protest on home soil before the season's out

Swindon game.
Would be good. Would also be great to get everyone who is boycotting back for it as well. I appreciate people have stated not a penny more, but would love a good turnout in the west lower to get right in Meire's face to give her something to think about over the summer

I would happily break my boycott for this, especially if it's a relegation decider.
Don't think it's been properly translated on here yet but this is the full quote from RD in Belgian paper on eve of march:
RD regrets the protest march. "But it is naturally their right to show their frustrations," he says. "Whether or not their dissatisfaction is justified is more the question. A number of people have created an atmosphere at Charlton which is not healthy, they jump on everything. The people who now descend on St Truiden accused the trainers and management of all sorts last season, interrupted matches and threw various things on the pitch."
So would he be better to sell Charlton? "Perhaps. But the buyers which CARD speak about were not there, they were middlemen. The buyers have never made themselves known to us."
That a number of STVV supporters now fall in line behind the Charlton fans surprises him. "I don't think there will be many of them. It seems that at every club you have a few azijnpissers."

Peter Varney, time to get your people on the phone to this nutter, if they're still around?

Only because Lazy Daisy told you not to sign the non disclosure agreement.......
IMHO, the real enemy here is Meire as if the club is sold then she is out of a job that she loves. She simply thinks she is bigger then the club and puts her own interests before the club instead of vice versa
Odd if she does a job she is incapable of doing. Has failed in all aspects of it. Is a national laughing stock. She will not get another job in football. If the quotes from RD are correct he is deluded. " a number of people" nearly all supporters are disgusted by your mismanagement.. Both go and see how the club will recover its supporters and dignity.
He's academically smart He has made a lot of money out of designing the location chip now used in cars He is a total and utter idiot Should he and Keohane should be invited to s party where shrooms were abailable
Another thing we know is that he is a horrible vindictive character. He has also shown himself to be spineless and acts a bit like a spoilt child when he doesn't get his own way.
Bloody hell, he's Belgium's bargain basement Donald Trump ...
I don't think that he has any intentions of selling up. He certainly won't be pushed by the actions of the Charlton supporters.
I believe that he has a long term strategy that revolves around the Valley and the land it sits upon. Land values in the borough of Greenwich will continue to rise If in the meantime if the club goes down the plug hole then so be it. The only way that he can break even or even make a profit is to sell the land, and that is what I believe his long term vision is.

Is it a job she loves, or is it a job that doesn't require her to do any work whatsoever? If she starts work at 10am, and finishes at 4pm, and has two hours break during the day, what on earth does she do in the other 4 hours? Seriously what actual work, real work, hard work does she do? Does anybody know? If she does do any work it has led to failure and an empty Valley, what's good about that? Feck all.

Maybe. But I don't think that was ever his original intention.
The player farm thing in my eyes was much more likely to be his sole aim. The championship is a fine shop window to showcase one's stars of the future and staying in it would have been a sure fire way of shifting any talent on to the premier. A lack of ambition to get anywhere near the prem backs this up. Problem is ,it backfired. And although he's managed to shift the likes of Lookman it is going to be far harder to attract and then sell on youngsters all the time we're not in the championship. His next move, should he choose to stay, could be in my eyes as drastic as the example you mentioned.

Its a job she loves and one where she does very little
Could Danny Mill's "save your money" comment referenced on the Belgium trip thread have been misconstrued as a dig and actually been an ommission of knowledge of something?
Or am I clutching at straws and giving Mills too much credit?!

Perhaps is movement. It has to be a matter of price now. He is a businessman and he must realise his future with us will not work out. The problem is - if you buy a car and smash it, it is worth less money. Irrespective if you spent money on it! The club in its current position can't be worth what he paid for itlet alone what he wants fo it. But cutting his losses will I am sure be his best financial option and at some point he will see it - and until then we have to help him see it!
Is he talking about Fraeye? I don't think Luzon or Riga got a particularly hard time from fans!
The phrase middle man suggest there is a top man - why not talk to the middle man to find out who the top man is.
Basically, what this coward tells the Belgian press is mistruths to make him seem resonable. We know the facts behind it because the club means so much to us! I think the fact he feels the need to lie and exagerate to the Belgian press is a positive as he clearly cares how they perceive him, even if he clearly doesn't care how we do.

Pretty much my view on things. I still have doubts about whether he would sell the Valley. I don't doubt he has considered it and even looked into the possibility but as has been mentioned earlier in the thread the obstacles he's have to overcome would be pretty big, it would cost him even more money to do so and overall it probably wouldn't even cover all of the costs he's incurred.

As with the nonsense spouted by Meire at Slade's arrival press conference about Varney's investor wanting Charlton to leave The Valley, this is another slur that needs to be corrected.
The investor was prepared to travel to meet Duchatelet last year, which Duchatelet knows very well. The meeting did not happen because Duchatelet - on Meire's advice - refused to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Duchatelet says the "buyers" were not there. He cannot and does not know that in this case, because he would not sign the NDA to enable the meeting to take place. There are email exchanges that set this out very clearly.
In fact, to my knowledge CARD has never spoken about specific buyers nor presumed to tell Duchatelet to whom he should sell the club. It may well be there are others contacting him with propositions that do not stand up to examination. However, in this one case the only reason he does not know this person's identity is that he refused to enter into a basic undertaking to protect his identity in the event a deal did not proceed.
And by the way, if the investor didn't exist, how could they know he wants to take the club away from The Valley?

The final paragraph I would like Duchatelet to answer.

You only have to listen/read his interviews in Belgium to see he is a liar. It isn't a point for debate but a fact. (what he has said about interference, what he said about players he bought in keeping us up, accusing all the protestors of being ex-employees and of course what he has said about buyers. Of course his audience in Belgium do not know the details, but you have to question the character of a man who clearly has no integrity. You can see where Meire gets it from!

(To borrow a line from a great song)
Unfortunately, unless Uncle Roly promotes Katrien out of Charlton, she will keep digging her fashionable heels in.
Surely she is due a promotion to say marketing strategy for Melexis? That's a much more important role for Roland than the one she currently does.
And we would achieve the dual aim of both getting shot of Katrien and also Melexis would soon be contaminated.
