Against my better judgement

Going to my first home game for 13 months tomorrow night. Wife away so the alternative was to stay in alone, wash my hair and watch Eastenders.

Wife is a Welsh rugby union fan, so will be interesting to compare and contrast the atmosphere versus last Friday night when we were down in Cardiff for the Wales vs Ireland game!

Your wife is ruining your life. your one night of freedom coincides with a Charlton home game. - she's up to no good.

  • She did not like the fact that I was supporting Wales on the night, because if they beat Ireland it would almost certainly hand the Six Nations to England....which it did

I think even if you were Irish you would have enjoyed the Rugby more.

Where you sitting? You may get a whole block to yourself
  • West Stand around the middle. Thought I should check on who is in the directors box. There were indeed quite a lot of available seats!

Robin, we bought and moved into a house in Ottershaw, put it on the market 6 months later, you will have a blast compared to the local options :)

Sunbury - Moved to Ottershaw 16 years ago. You are probably right regarding the local options compared to a Charlton game. However, both my wife and I travel a lot for work so handy for Heathrow, plus I work near Leatherhead. Not handy for getting to Charlton home games, which has made it very easy not to attend much in recent years.

Fair do's Robin, we moved there for much the same reasons, moved away 15 years ago to Sunbury, very happy here.
We lived in Brox Mews, a stroll from the social club which is where I was when Beckham scored that free kick against Greece, was packed out - a highlight .
Hope you enjoyed your trip to The Valley.
