Duct tape, sometimes called duck tape, is cloth- or scrim-backed pressure-sensitive tape, often coated with polyethylene. There are a variety of constructions using different backings and adhesives. One variation is black gaffer tape, which is designed to be non-reflective and cleanly removed, unlike standard duct tape. Another variation is heat-resistant foil (not cloth) duct tape useful for sealing heating and cooling ducts, produced because standard duct tape fails quickly when used on heating ducts. Duct tape is generally silvery gray, but also available in other colors and even printed designs.

    Everyone happy now?

Absolutely not happy. Duck tape, sometimes erroneously called duct tape - for instance in trashy Wikipedia articles, is a cloth backed tape taking it's name from the 'duck' fabric from which it was originally made. Use of the phrase 'duct tape' is a classic example of reverse etymology. Someone has misheard the proper name and guessed at an alternative with plausible sounding meaning, that is completely wrong. It is, was and always will be duck tape.

Either may be fine according to that company but 'duck tape' note the small 'd' is a lot older than their claims and has nothing at all to do with ducts.
