During the game he seems to struggle a bit to change it, but he has more attack focussed ideas and has switched the formation around more recently and I think he's ok.
I don't think we can lay the blame fully on him for the errors of his bosses.
This defeat on its own would not be a bad result. It's all the other games against "poor" sides that we don't win either that are the problem.
My thinking exactly. In the scheme of things, yesterday's result and performance would've be accepted and more appreciated had we been in the position in the league where we ought to be.
It's the terrible results we have picked up against the weaker sides in this league that have caused us to be more where we are than a result like yesterday's.
It's a horrible month of February where we picked up so little points that has effectively ended our season. Had we not lost 4 in a row and instead picked up 10 points from those games, we would be within a shout of play-offs.
Sheffield United are where they are for a reason, because they're clinical and they've been consistent practically all season. We are where we are because we aren't clinical, we're therefore inconsistent and we are shambles of a club in the way it's run, even with the talent we obviously do have amongst the group of players, Holmes for example.
Had we somehow won yesterday, everybody would be saying how great Robinson is and his positive line up of 2 up front was key and we are now safe, it's a shame we messed up before etc. Instead we lost to the league leaders after deserving more from the game.
Football is fine margins. Unfortunately, it seems that under Roland's ownership, we have been on the wrong side of the margin.
"Find a momentum and grip it with both hands"...sounds like a directors comment whilst filming a porn film!
Comparing Charlton's situation to 5 years of underperforming Sheff Utd is ludicrous, but then he has to say something I guess. Sheff Utd are more or less promoted - took a gamble on an inexperienced but promising league manager. We went with Slade then the motor mouth...roll on 5 years and hopefully Douchebag will be long gone and we'll also be back in the Championship with a decent home crowd behind the team.
Karl , we lost ! An his only victory in memory was against a side who are in complete free fall Scunthorpe. Hardly a base for any enthusiasm for this, and certainly not for next season.
In a parallel universe somewhere Tony Jiminez doesn't piss kevin cash off and we kicked on with a sprinkling of quality to add to our very decent core of players and found ourselves pushing for promotion. Maybe the second season when the squad was further bolstered and the core that took us up are all now strong 2nd tier competitors with the new additions buying into what Chris Powell was striving to achieve we see Johnnie Jackson, Chris Solly, Dale Stephens, Yann Kermorgant, Rhoys Wiggins, Michael Morrison, Diego Poyet, Joe Gomez, Ben Hamer and Jordan Cousins appearing for Charlton Athletic in the premier league. There is so much to be said for momentum and getting the whole place going in the same direction.
Now we live in the version of the present day when Biff Tannon is the president of the USA and a lunatic old bastard and his whelp are about 3 months away from ruining us beyond repair. And I force myself to listen to some gobshite so far over his head spout again some incessant waffle instead of hearing Chris Powell say how proud he is of his players after taking points off Chelsea at Stamford Bridge
