According to research foreign managers actually do better then Brits in all 4 leagues in England.

Mind you, in true Belgian fashion, even if they were onto something they then stuffed it up by switching managers every couple of weeks, as the 'new manager bounce' is a myth too!

    The point that the Grauniad seems to have missed completely is that foreign managers are rarely imported to this country unless they already have an established track record at a relevant level (with the glaring exception of Karel Fraeye, of course). We do not get many of their first-timers, the hopeful/desperate punts by lower league chairmen, etc.

    Absolutely do not and did not care about what the head coach/managers nationality is.

    It's.... if they are qualified enough and if they are proven enough and if they have at least some knowledge about the huge challenge that awaits them.

    Otherwise, they are most likely going to struggle.

    It is most likely that a British manager will know more about league one and the championship, assuming they have prior experience playing or managing within those leagues.
    It's still not essential that person needs to be British.
    They could be from Norway, but have spent a good playing career in English football, therefore a bit of English football orientated experience. Maybe in coaching too.
    Most British footballers/managers tend to stay in England for football.
    Considering It's the big time and the only reason to go overseas (in my opinion) would be to get a different type of footballing experience and hopefully better weather, depending on where you go.

    It is extremely arrogant and foolish to believe that someone without solid enough experience, at the bare minimum, will be able to fill such a role.

    Rolands idea of not really trying to get the best man for the job, more just someone he thinks he can trust, is degrading to football itself suggesting that it's for thickos and any old mug with half a brain cell can ava little go.

    It's a serious sport that requires serious attention in every department.

    To be the best it possibly can be, within reason.
