Leaving games early

  • Very few times I've left early but Millwall away last time and the 4-0 a couple of years back i would of payed to leave early.

Weren't allowed to leave that one from memory, the fuckers kept us caged in.
  • Remember we were getting a right tonking from someone years ago may have been Boro but can't quite remember. Anyway I was in the west stand. Got up and headed towards the exit just before half time, old bloke who I've never met, spoken to, or even seen, literally leans over and screams at me ' leaving already? Proper fan aren't ya'.
Wouldn't mind, but I was only going for a piss.
  • never left early & probably never will. Stay to the end & clap or boo whichever is most appropriate.
  • I left on 35 minutes against Brighton last season. That was the point I decided I could not take anymore of the rubbish the Belgians are serving us.

I have been to only four home games this season.
  • I have a 3-0 rule which means I once left Stamford Bridge at 3.20pm. Left last night on 57 minutes. No point prolonging the suffering. Can't remember missing anything either.
  • never left early & probably never will. Stay to the end & clap or boo whichever is most appropriate.

I have an idea what you do most nowadays!
  • Earliest I've ever left is against Millwall this season away. When they went 3-1 up and i knew we would get penned in, I left with my brother, and that's when I decided that my boycott of this lot would extend to my away support as well as home.
  • Haven't left a game early, but do recall many times i wish i had. The one that springs to mind this season is Port Vale away. I ranted all the way back to the car (in the rain) to my poor suffering daughter, even dragging random Vale fans into my pit of anger and disappointment. That said I have developed a sick sense of humour over recent seasons to the level that even when we were smashed 6-0 at Hull i had started cheering their goals after 3-0. It was a perfect storm of admiration and despair.

I feel if people have had enough at any time during the game, then that's their look out. If they want to vote with their feet, fine.

Many times. Normally during an absolute hiding or a game where there looks no way back. Don't understand why people hate it like its any of their business what I do with my Saturday. Also turn up late quite often and stay in the pub for an extra 5 mins.

Always stay because I love to see the tunnel jump that highlights yet another victory..., after cheering the hardworking skilfull team off the pitch, then joining the huge throng walking excitingly home talking about the game and its many high points.... sorry dropped off into a little dream there.

What I meant to say was I always wait till the end to boo off Robinson, the board, the team and the referee, then join the fourteen others walking out the ground whilst using their mobiles to see how far down the table we've now dropped, past where they used to have horses to devide the crowd, past the empty kebab house, driving home on clear roads listening to Radio London describing the performance as woeful then interviewing some scally doing manager impersonations (blaming the defeat on players not trying/ refereeing/ small squads / walking on a crack in the pavement before the game), then getting home in time to kick the cat.
  • I have never left a game early.
  • I left after 20 minutes on Tuesday. Sounds bad but it was 20 minutes longer than the players.
  • I gather that some Sunderland fans leave before they even get to the ground. Well you would too if your side hadn't scored in nine of their previous ten games!

They must wonder what happened in the only game they did score when they put four past Palace.

  • I haven't left a game early since 1957. We had 10 men and were 5-1 down at home to Huddersfield with 25 odd mins left. God knows how it finished..

Christ, how did you manage to get through the 100,000 fans who claimed that they were there?
  • On a poor performance I'll usually leave as the Injury Time Board goes up because I dont want to hear the fan reaction at the end of a bad result... On Tuesday I stayed because I really wanted to hear the reaction from those who remained.
  • i've never really left early, apart from the one last season where the walk-out was organised, but completely understand those who do at the moment. i'm not going to home games this season, but now at away games i'll happily sacrifice the first 10 minutes of the second half for a drink (or several) at the bar, which I never would have before. (Typically, this way i've missed us score at both Oxford and Millwall this season...)
