  • Gone is the hope of a party atmosphere if this takeover happens, it'll just be a mild feeling of relief and thank fcuk for that.

Looks like the team is screwed until January at a minimum

You've got to be fckn kidding me i will be dancing naked down the street stealing kisses off whoever will have me - it'll be like VE Day (only without the clothes)
It's fantastic to know Cafc have fans in New Zealand Kiwi valley, are you well know in your local community because if you carry out your pledge you could become big down under.
  • Glenn McGrath

    Quite apt AA,
Because we have been in the corridor of uncertainty for over 12 months now.
    And Roland swings both ways?

    Kiwi Day.

    Please look away.

I think it will be more like the final scene of Captain Phillips, when he realises that the nightmare really is over.

That would be plaintive - unless you are taking legal action against Duchatelet of course.
    Bloody spellchecker
Sorry, I wasn't being spiteful - I just love typos which still have a kind of sense to them. My all-time favourite is "he was held in higher steam".
    Deserves a thread.

This is really becoming tiresome. I hope for good news this week but starting to fear we have Australians or Roland. Both playing poker-faces and neither blinking. All that’s happening is we, the fans, are turning on each other. Players won’t want to come to the club and we will be stuck in league 1 for another year. This is probably the “easiest” League 1 for a few years so this is an opportunity to get out and get moving upwards. We literally can’t afford to miss out

With the exception of Sunderland I agree.
  • I still THINK it will be Friday July 13th.

  • I think this week is the week

  • A lot of people on here "thinking".

    But no one knowing?

Bigger news story than Trump coming to the UK...
  • A lot of people are thinking because NO ONE actually knows

You said similar about last week.
    I quoted someone, different.
  • ...did I say not before 10:30am?
  • Just caught up after the weekend, and it looks as though we are as far from being taken over as ever?

Well let's just say my thread is never going to compete with the length of this one. It can get really cold down here.

Taking the thread slightly off topic but anyone who doubts Tom hanks acting ability just needs to watch that scene. Incredible.

Let’s hope the saga finally gets wrapped up this week..

He got freed in 2009 I think mate
Another Monday morning and the usual non-news. Another week of prolonged agony popping onto CL periodically in the vain hope that there will some good news from those ITK. Why do I bother?

I don’t follow the transfer window so no idea about teams merits but think Bristol Rovers, Pompey and Barnsley all have relatively new billionaire owners, as we know it does not mean success but how do their squads look? In addition Scunny, Bradford and Peterborough are all decent in this league usually and Luton and Burton should be good too.
  • 1: Poster who is regarded as in the know posts information that makes it sound like takeover is imminent.

2: Takeover thread goes berserk as multiple new posts of excitement are made.

3: Memes and shitposts like this start after a few days.

4: Thread begins to die as no takeover happens.

    5: Rinse and repeat.

Sadly we are currently in a stage 4 situation.

a classic of this genre is 'I hurdled through the grape vine for 'I heard it on the grape vine'
(Just listen to the track again and see what you think).

which seems somehow weirdly appropriate here where a multitude of ITK comments may just as well have been conjured up by someone hurdling through a vineyard. Nothing is now too strange or surreal for this thread.
