No one is waiting in the wings all bullshit
Far be it from me to contradict such a well connected lounge-lizard business tycoon as yourself, but I humbly dare to say that I have heard differently.

Nevertheless the old bastard is up to his tricks as usual so nothing is straightforward and his price expectations remain preposterous.
    Do tell us more please...

Oh look more rumours of a takeover to douse any ideas that might be circulating for protests at Wembley.

For the record I would not support protests at Wembley personally as this is a day to ignore Duchatelet completely and get behind the team as they try to fix the mess he has made of things.

I cannot. Also I am not the primary source, but the mate and fellow fan who is, is just as well connected as Billy Big Bollocks above.

I know of one investor who walked away because he doesn't think we are big enough for the fee being touted

Anyone who came on Friday will see what a sleeping giant we are.  Anyone who comes on Sunday cannot fail to be impressed at the sheer passion and number of our fans.

It's the perfect opportunity to sell the club to an investor so I would like to think there will be one or two there on the day

It should give food for thought for investors but any sensible business person will still lol at the price being suggested on here for a L1 club or even a Championship club with no contracted players.

Perhaps it’s those Aussies who only had to “hand some paperwork into the EFL” - in February.

There are no Aussies and there may well be “suitors” - but nothing will happen, and mention of them is pointless.

RD wants almost twice as much as we are worth - however many fans we take to Wembley.

Clubs in the Championship cost the owner about £10m a season to be competitive.  If we are successful
on Sunday, these “suitors” will need between 80-100 million to take a shot at the big time and get repaid.

    It’s not happening.

And with less than seventy two hours to go until we play in our biggest game for years we have our chips well and truly pissed on.

    Quite the opposite.
We have a fantastic crowd ready for a fantastic match DESPITE having a bad owner.
The Club will never die while folk like us are still breathing.

  • Over 40,000 fans at say an average £50 for a ticket for this game is £2 million and that’s before you start adding on the catering and merchandising. The valley may not hold 40k at the moment but it easily could, more if you redevelop the west stand. If a prospective buyer can’t see a viable business model in that then we probably don’t want them anyway.

Didn’t you mean to say East Stand?

No, the plans for the east won’t add that much because of the gardens behind it but knock down the existing west stand and you can build something as big as you like.

Mmmmm.....re The West Stand,I’m not sure the increase in capacity would make that cost effective.
Jimmy Seed stand demolished and matched up with the Covered End would be part of the answer and then somehow getting a second tier on The East would be the way forward.
The East Stand is the biggest challenge.....but with imaginative design a second tier may well be achievable, though the gardens behind are, as you say, a major sticking point.

     Those  gardens are now houses.

Knocking the west stand isn't really sensible.

Regardless basing future league gates on one off Wembley turnouts is just silly.

Absolutely, otherwise Millwall would have the biggest stadium in the country

Had some email correspondence during the tenure of Varney a few years ago, when I had queried why we had not taken advantage of the back of the West Stand roof for advertising (even a huge CAFC would of been seen for miles...)  One of his counter arguments was the fact that Greenwich Council were adverse to that option, and that we were at the absolute height limit of any development and/or subsequent signage for that part of the ground.

There's definitely still space behind the East Stand for some sort of expansion, but realistically rebuilding the Jimmy Seed would be the main area to expand the capacity.

If we had a decent stay in the PL, then I could see this happening, but wouldn't want to go much beyond 30k

Think it was said a bit tongue in cheek to be honest.
