I’m very sceptical that any deal is close but you do have to wonder why AM and GM were present.
They were present at the playoff matches against Shrewsbury last year to. Maybe they just enjoy playing at being football club owners.

Not only has Lee Bowyer's status increased, but will the players get a bonus for promotion, and the players still under contract for next season: Taylor, Phillips etc get a wage increase ?

Anyone ITK on current Charlton contracts ?

I hope they're not expecting to collect on any bonus promised by RD....

No ambiguity on a written contract for players if promotion is achieved unlike the admin or maintenance staff where bonus targets are opaque in many companies including Duchatelet's Ownership of Charlton.

No ambiguity on the staff bonuses but players have a very strong union.

We should hear something this week hopefully, on who may be staying, as I recall L.B saying he was going to speak to them this week.

Would it be reasonable to think , when the Newcastle deal is done. Ashley buys us, invests a few 10s of millions, we go up within a few years and he sells us for a profit in the Prem. I know it’s all dreams but wouldn’t that make business sense?

The Issue is money is no guarantee to get to the prem, look how much Leeds have invested in recent years.

Surely LB needs to sort his own contract out first before he can start persuading players to stay?

'Hi Joe, we'd like you to sign a new deal'

"Are you staying too then boss?'

    'Errrmmmmm'

Based on nothing other than a hunch, I think it's a done deal.  Maybe even this week.

Bowyer said something that made me think it has been, as did the tone of some of the comms from the club.  It sounds like a badly kept secret.
Olly and George weren’t aware that GM and AM were in the Royal Box, and I doubt they were keeping anything under their hat (s) as of half an hour after the match. But you never know ;-)
They weren’t in the royal box. There are multiple claims they were in hospitality, including a good friend of mine who was in there and is adamant they had a table of five, Muir was present, and that Murray went and spoke to them. He might be wrong but that’s what he believes he saw.

    Reason enough to sell :rage:

  • Is there a time limit on due diligence? Would the Aussies need to do it (or certain aspects of it) again?

Is it Adrian Rabiot? Juan Mata? Daniel sturridge or Danny welbeck?

If they’re not buying the club then this is the wrong thread.

Can someone delete this filth - I can only think of 2 or 3 others who are less deserving of handling our trophy.
